Hey guys, just your friendly neighborhood PW informat here.
As you may or may not know, the English-Malaysian version of Perfect World is coming out any day now with a full english server. Right now most PW players are playing the Chinese-Malaysian servers with a 100% english patch.
We just discovered the English forums are now up! Though we can't post there yet, you can sign up and wait for the action!
This is one of the only games out right now thats Asian and worth playing, so might want to take a look!

Lets see , the main site (Cubi thingy) can be set to english and i can sign up there, fine
Now i go to the game website, and its all giberish i cant understand a word, so the game is also giberish, so , where to get the 100% english patch thingy u talking about?
I was really looking forward to PW , but the PH version got a region lock
, didnt know from this version though

How to play the MALAYSIAN-CHINESE VERSION W/ ENGLISH PATCH
Sign up here (don't forget to click "english" in top left)

Important note: It has taken new accounts several hours to work in game after signing up for Cubizone account. If you get a Link-error when logging into game, just be patient.
Download the client (I suggest FIlefront, I got the whole game in about 45 mins, this is the official download)

Download the game patches (You need 1-9 patch)

Install the game, run the patches. Now you can install the english patch.

To install English patch, put "element" and "patcher" into your PW folder and overwrite. Put surfaces.pck into your "element" folder and overwrite.
NOTE: You need East Asian Characters installed on your Windows

I heard the English-based Malaysian servers were coming out 31st of July, but then again I might be mixing it up with another game that I have been reading about. Just a note, http://wiki.perfectworld.cc/ keeps track of all the open and closed betas being done with Perfect World on all versions, including English Patch links.
Extremely beautiful game... Character customization is huge and... It's awesome.

Playing the malaysian version with english patch right now. Anyone in a guild or something that can provide help and or tips? Im not really enjoying it and maybe joining up with some others might help enrich the experience.

Perfect World is just another really typical grindy asian game. I dont see anything special about it at all.

Play the game before judging.
PW is somewhat of a mix of Wow and Lineage 2. Although still in closed beta (with some Asian regions already released), it's a complete game in an open seamless world, with features Vanguard promised but failed to deliver.
Some of the features are:
Territorial Battles
The game divides the whole terrain into smaller domains and has a built-in territorial battle system where clans and factions can build, arm and fortify a city or multiple establishments at the same time. Fortify the captured city with catapults and armaments to effectively guard your location against opposing attackers who are keen on expanding their territory.
Battle in Land, Sea and Air (yes free flight and dozens of mounts)
Each character and class in Perfect World has the special ability and peripherals to fly, trek, and swim in different terrains. Inherent attributes, special equipments, summons or even mountable animals make it possible for characters to not only fly, trek, and swim but also to duel and clash on any of the terrain. Perfect World created a world with flying monsters and floating cities and ruins, all waiting to be explored.
Massive Quest/Mission System
The game itself has more than 5,000 quests waiting to be discovered and completed. Quests can be race- and class-specific. Instance quests are available for players who would like to make their own adventures.

I have not seen a bot in PW yet. They'll certainly come in time.
Lineage 2 has almost no quests, it's only community play with fighting mobs and pvp. PW, which btw is called the "Chinese Wow" in the press, is more of a mix of WoW-SWG-L2.
But dude, get real. There is a grind in any mmorpg, be it grinding for quests, grinding for crafting, grinding for mobs... I have not seen 1 mmorpg that is not a grind. And regarding bots, you can purchase gold for all of the mmos, so in any game you will have players who purchase levels or stuff.
That's how it is, you can't do anything about it.
The good points for PW are that it has more features than most of the pay to play games and it's free. Now regarding the style and the gameplay it's up to the player to try the game and make his opinion.
Well ive seen a lot of bots and im only a low lvl still. As far as grind how can you call their lame quest system a feature when its exactly what you say it is a series of uninspired quests to grind on.
There is a way to do things about the grind in mmos don't play poorly designed grindy mmos like this one.
Maybe this game is better than most pay for play games but i seriously doubt it. Its not better than WoW or Lotro maybe its better than lineage 2. This game reminds me of the other second tier f2p asian games like archlord last chaos.

WoW is a rep-grindfest, L2 is just an honest-to-God grindfest, Guild Wars is pretty much 'Grind Faction longer than the other guy and you win!'.
Maybe the reason you think Perfect World is such a grinder is, well, they don't take as much time to candy-coat it as American MMO's. Asian players have pretty much accepted the fact that their is grind, so why waste time covering it up with stuff that doesn't really matter?
Besides leaving out cover-ups for grinding, this game has many excellent features not found in other MMO's, even some Pay to Plays. I play the Malaysian Client with 100% English patch and I'm pretty much just trying out all the classes right now and exploring the game's many features. There is no need to level on the Malaysian Client if the English one is this close

Overall, if you're bored like I was after quitting WoW, just try the Malaysian Client now so you know what's coming with the English installment, I can't wait!

That's kinda what I am doing right now. Downloading the MY client (60% (: ) and am just going to try all the classes and play with the character creation system. I probably will end up being the healing/support class anyways, gotta love always being needed for groups throughout the whole game (:

I disagree that it's covering griding. It's alternative way to reach same goal. So it's more like a choise. That's what western players wants, more choises than just doing same stuff over and over. Everyting can be booring, if it's only thing what You can do.
