Personally i cant wiat for GW2 to come out. Playable races, new classes, new worlds, new missions, NEW STORYLINE! My favorite thing about GW would be that it's a MMORPG with a storyline and when you beat it it's like beating a actual game, plus the storyline is better then alot of console games. Other MMORPGs just have expansion packs with storys about why it has arisin or why it's there, how it got there but really never does it feed into beatign a boss and making it go away. I dont know. GW 2 will be a marking stone for all MMORPGS to beat i think.

I must definately agree with you!
I too can't wait for GW2 most of all because it will be more free movement included and even more than in other mmos like Climbing(none of the 30+mmos I have tested/played had this one so far), Swimming, Jumping, Running and more.
I also always liked the story and the way the story involves your character letting it be a part of the whole story.
PvP? The best than in any other mmo I tested/played so far except the raids in Lineage2 (castle vs castle) and Dark Age of Camelot that are not included(don't tell me WoW cause its pvp sucks in most of the cases since all the classes are predictable ).
For now though I will enjoy the final Gwen story in the eye of the north in the preview soon and in the expansion also!
To be mentioned to those that still don't know about it: Eye of the North is the only add-on(Expansion) that was ever released for GW, Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall are Chapters and stand alone games.
bring it on i say... although now i have loads of time to work out how my rangers decendants became charr
Is GW 2 going to be a mmorpg this time ? All it needs is a persistant world inhabited by all the players on that server and we have a great mmo on our hands.
I'll take an FPS over GW anyday. Flashy graphics, awesome cut scenes...thats about all. I don't like their canned pvp all that much, though I know a lot of people love it, so it can't be all wrong.
The thing that annoyed me the most about GW was the movement...not being able to run down hillsides etc..was like playing a badly coded rpg in multi player mode..
D.
p.s. That is just my opinion and in no way reflects actual gameplay experiences of other people etc. and so on.
Yeah WOW's PVP sucked!!! What type of game has capture the flag? seriously! Even though GW pvp still...isn't all that great it is still good, i've played worse but DAoC is the best, want good strong up beat all the time pvp....DAoC is where it's at but with two prices. 12 bucks a month (but after a year it goes down a dollor until you hit 0 making it free aswell.) and there might not be any one,and i do mean anyone on that day. But all around DAoC is probably the best mmorpg i have played. GW..is in it's own field.
Now that i think about it. The enviroment is going to be really really cool...with the ever changing ingame enviroment, killing things will just be more fun. Can't wait to see that first person port in becuase he didnt kill the dragon and it burned down his bridge so he had to port in then port out and do it again.
I am afriad that GW2 will be just another MMO, but with arenanet behind it I think it will stand out. From the beginning GW was a new way to look at online gaming. The issues is the replayablity.
I started Gw a few months before factions and played almost constantly until about 3 months ago when I go bored. I am looking forward to playing GWEN and will be buying it, but I don't see me playing it past two maybe 3 characters.
The it is just a matter of time and maybe getting into the beta of GW2 and then seeing if Anets visions can carry over
The things that will make it stand out:
Awesome graphics.
Superb soundtrack.
Freedom of movement.
Cool storylines.
Hall of Monuments (where the heroic deeds your GW1 characters did will be remembered for all to see).
Even if weapons, foes and combat style didn't change one bit from GW1 to GW2, there would still be enough cool things about it to push it way over the top.
I think it is a great idea but it will need a lot of work.
I doubt it as hard work is completely against the whole idea of Guild Wars
