I cannot explain it ... but something about listening to that opening introduction music. My God, it is wonderful. I miss (and cherish) my old EQ 1 memories (99% of which are Pre-PoP and about 80% Pre-Luclin).
I loved the sense of danger in EQ, the feel of the world, and just grouping with friends and family.
God... That music brings back so many memories... I would do/pay anything to be able to play back when that music filled the zones where the majority of people were... Sigh.

I'm not even interested in a classic server and I wish they'd release one. There are certainly enough people begging for one, and it is going to be a sticking point in the greater EQ-and-ex-EQ community until they do it.

Gahh! It has every great everquest song on it except the one where you walk outside of Freeport. Wheres all the old Freeport music! I loved it, that was the town I first started on, Long live Boomba the Big, over 5000 platinum worth of rat tails on him still I guarantee you!

A nearly painful flash into the past. I burned a metric ton of time in that game.
Still, it certainly had some great music that was very fitting for the settings, at least at first.
Nice find.

Thank you.

Long-live Everquest!
If those ass pretzels at Sony would only:
1) Release a pre-Luclin classic server, AND
2) Bring back the old music, AND
3) Upgrade the graphics a notch or two.
Then, I'm sure your dream would come true.
