Does EQ1 still have copious amounts of camping?

To anyone who currently playing, does EQ1 still have truckloads of mob camping? Or have they changed it? I rescribed once and quickly got annoyed about how I apparently had to wait 3 hours for a paritcular spider to spawn....I waited half an hour and got fed it up, seems like zero fun and just a waste of time.... I love the depth and features of EQ1, which has never been rivalled by any MMORPG after it but it was one of the aspects of the game that really annoyed me. And has the death system been changed, or it still exp penalties and level lost etc.

Theres still camping on Everquest but once you get higher levels you probably will never find yourself spawn camping. Everuqest is somewhat going downhill because its all "Raid Based" now. Raids raids raids, I guess since WOW has so many raids Everquest thinks that everyone will love EQ again because of them. So yes, and no.

and yes, the death system has changed.  You still have the same XP loss but you don't have to go on CRs any more.  Once ded, just summon your corpse in the "Guild Lobby," and ask your friendly Cleric there for a rez.  If you don't want a rez right away, you can wait a couple hours and get one before your timer expires.

If you don't want to bother with a rez at all, your corpse will pop in "Shadowrest" - a zone dedicated to corpse retrieval.

Not necessarily, its that both EQ and WoW have reached their level ceilings and starting a new character isn't practical or most likely isn't desirable. I'm still dumb founded that SOE is revamping the old zones in EQ. The game has been out for years I can't imagine there would be a new influx of players.

I was just having a bout of EQ nostalgia and then I read this post.  Yep, that cured my nostalgia problem pretty quick.  I was actually thinking about asking if EQ had ever moved away from the raid focus, since I haven't played it in years.  But you answered that question before I could ask it.
