    Why this post?

  • laleblaleb Member Posts: 215

No. Reason is to many ppl will leak undisclosed info just so others will not want in. Besides BETA is not about playing the game its about getting the bugs out so its playable at launch

only 1 mil in beta!?...pffftt.....lets hope by the time the game actually releases , they have a heavy release of CD's worldwide.

if the game has a distribution like WoW had...then yes...multiple times over.

you have no other option but to have large large numbers inc on subscriptions if your distribution is massive out of the gate.

I dont think any other mmorpg had the distribution that WoW did...could you imagine if they did!

you distribute 'that' much...you will reep the benefits.

People will have given up hope of ever getting in. Paul Barnett did say that if you signed up, in like.. the first 200,000 You will play before the game is released. or beta.

I do believe that it will reach 1 million players eventually, but I dont think it will reach 1 million beta apps. Unless of course Blizz does something to really piss the crap outta WoW players so they all sign up for WAR. lol

I don't think they allow that many. But I could bet on WAR receiving 1 million subscribers the first year after release. Or even 2 mill

I am surprised it hit 300k after hitting 200k. You figure most of the people who were somewhat interested in war would sign up pretty fast. So, I'd say 300k is as far as beta applications will go. Simply because most people who wanted to beta test war had already applied.

How about the. Do you see WAR getting 1 million preorders befor launch, now that is a worthy question.

If god loves the fools ,and god loves every one, dose that mean we are all fools.

They will get 500k max cause LOTRO will knock them off the shelf as with WOW 2 LOL (joke people) seriously does it really matter?

Well if it does..then i think yeah it will make 1 mil in first year easily cause if there was a game that WOW fans can change to this will be it.

It will not be a WOW killer but i do think that it will put a big dint in it's Armour.

I don't reckon it will damage WoW too much in sense of amount of subscribers however i reckon some of WoWs more experienced and better players will come here which will have a knock on effect on the game.

1 mill...no. 500k maybe. Most of the people who wanted in have already signed up. From here to release it will be a trickle. However I do believe at the end of their launch month they will have 1-2 million games sold.

This is really a pointless thread. If Mythic opens their beta to 1,000,000 beta testers will they get them? Yes.

There are hundreds of thousands of players that will sign up for the beta that don't even care about WAR, just because they are looking for a F2P game. Some of them will attempt to get to whatever max level before beta ends so they can have bragging rights but of course probably won't file even a single bug report. Simply put alot players will join the beta knowing they will never subscribe (for whatever reason) Thus big beta does not equal big seller or even better beta tested (except when it comes to stress testing)

Heck LotRO had 1 million beta testers with its world tour, but last I heard they still don't have 1 million active subscribers.

It's really hard to say. WAR is a good game, 6 months ago I would have said they would get 1 million subscribers by launch but there are so many good games coming out in the near future including AoC, Aion, Fury, GaH and TR that it really is hard to say. Anyone of these games could top WAR.

The best advantage WAR has going for them are their completely new systems, their track record with DAoC, low system requirements and Paul Barnett. Will WAR be successful? Yes. I believe how successful is heavily dependant on other new games coming out and less on World of Warcraft. I have yet to meet a friend of mine talk of going to WAR, but I've heard many of my friends anticipating Aion for example.

I'd say WAR will reach 500,000 by 2008, later maybe more depending on how well Public Quests work. It will be more successful than LotRO.

I can see WAR having more than 1million when it goes gold.As far as competition goes, i only see AOC-TR-G&H Aion does not cut it for me at all.I get the feeling that people think for WAR to succeed it must have some of Blizzards subs, which is bullshit.

You also forget that its not JUST Mythic we are dealing with here lol.Let me remind everyone in this  thread that GW(Games Workshop) have a Massive 25 year old following and millions of people playing WAR TT.Just to remind people that it is GW who own this IP and EA Mythic are here to make it into a great MMORPG.

Make no mistake WAR is going to be BIG and i would even go so far to say in 2 years time its BIGGER than WOW.Blizzard will still keep a lot of  its subs because contrary to belief  WAR and WOW are nothing like each other.

The gaming world is changing and anyone and there mother knows its Online gaming that's going to lead the way. Mmorpg and multiplayer titles will be  earning the most cash for devs.

If  Mythic crack ASIA then its good night all other competition Blizards biggest subs come from ASIA not the USA.DAOC was bigger in europe than the usa just like Warhammer has its biggest following in Europe and more than half the beta apps are from Europe.

WAR is being released in Asia.  It just depends on if it's successful over there.

I don't know that it'll be successful though.  Over there, it seems like small group vs. group gameplay is what wins out.  The competition is what seems to drive them, and huge RvR gameplay seems like it might not fit in with the gaming style of most Korean/Asian games.

Who knows though.  I think that if WAR is successful in Asia it will be very interesting to see what the sub numbers end up being.
