Honestly, there is no comparison between the two games. Its PotBS all the way. PotC is too kiddy, and the graphics, gameplay, and AI are no where near as good as PotBS. I read about someone mentioning Copyrights. Heres a fun fact, PotBS has been in the making for 5 years. This game has been in development way before Johnny Depp walked onto the big screen as Captian Jack Sparrow. I REALLY loved the movies, but the truth is PotBS came first. There is no copyright infringement whatsoever. And after 5 years (which is a hell of a long time to develop a game) this game is gonna be "perfect". No flaws, none of those new mmo game bugs that take years to fully fix. I cannot wait for this game to come out. I will definitly play this in Iraq during my deployment.
But it did not come first. PotC is based on a Disney ride that has been around for decades.
The ideas are so completely different between the two that it shouldn't matter. PotC is more mystical/fantasy based on water. PotBS is closer to a true naval setting, without the fantasy aspect. So there should be no stating copyright infringment.
Wow, that was truly awesome. I mean, did you see the rate of fire on that cannon? I had no idea they shot that fast back in the 18th century. It's like the rapid-fire trebuchet in Kingdom of Heaven. Totally cool! Maybe I can have a deck mounted trebuchet on my pimped-out frigate. If I could have that I'd get a life time subscription to PotC. I'm going to drink rum, beat up strangely resilient crabs with my cutlass, and sing Barrett's Privateers at the top of my lungs over and over and over again. Can't wait!
I say this is as likely as the frothing fanbois on the official forums predicting 3 million subs within a year -
Looking forward to trying the game myself - but really , the people saying it will be "perfect" with "no flaws" and those saying 3 million subs I often wonder where they lost their ability to analyze something honestly went -
There are several on the official forums saying these delays will mean "no bugs" - I mean honestly - how does one get to such a fanboi point to say a mmorpg will have "no bugs"

I agree that PotBS is going to rule.
