As anyone who played wow knows they had the Rock, Paper, Scissors (total bs idea btw) way of class balancing for 1 v 1. Does anyone know if War is going to implement this because right now it looks like casters will kill tanks, tanks kill dps, dps kill caster run down. I really hope its not that way and would love some confirmation of either or.

Every game follow rps system. Well, unless there is no difference between classes. Casters have good damage, some utility spells, range but low hp. Tanks have lots of hp, lower damage, no/little range and questionable quility. dps tanks have high damage, decent hp, no/little range, questionable utility. Healers (this depends a lot shaman is very different from warrior priest, but for simplicity) healers have heals, good utility, decent damage, decent hp, range.
As you can see each of the arch types has strenghts and weaknesses. It would stand to reason that one class's strenght would lie where the other class's weakness is, thus making class a > class b for 1v1. Likewise, class b might have the strengths that counter class's c strenght very nicely and thus class b> class c.
There is no way to change that, unless you make classes thathave no weaknesses and no strenghts, which would be boring to play. Does this mean that class a will alwayskill class b? No, but it does mean that class a has the tools needed to kill class b, where as class b may need to rely on player skill to make up for its lack of tools to kill class a.
I understand that but let me put it this way. I have my rogue and I can pretty much kill every class but fury warrior and maybe a lock if they catch me out of stealth. Even with trinket change I can still 100 - 0 most people. The thing I want to see is that if i make a chosen that I can still kill a bright wizard instead of in wow where if I am a warrior and I see a mage im as good as dead.

Well, as a warlock, i cannot kill an ebayed rogue who is holdign an icecream in one hand while playing with the other unless I catch him out of stealth, and how would I do that unless he killed someone right next to me. Then you also get items that win fights for you against those who don't have them (for more balanced match ups) mage vs warrior is just badly designed, in part because wow is a pve game, and since mobs don't kite warriors are fine there.
War is a pvp game, so stupid things like no immunity on cc (oh yes, there is imuunity, if you somehow have 50k hp you might even live long enaugh to see how it works) Here is an easy way to balance warrior vs mages in wow. 1 minute immunity on any cc (including snares) after it has been applied and expired. There you go, no more mages kiting you with rank 1 frostbolt untill you die with no chance to do anything (you can intercept? and hope you don't lag too badly because of snare and actually get in range of mage and not 4 feet away and manage to do enaugh damage to two shot him before blink, but that usually doesn't work) Interestingly enaugh, it also fixes rogue stun lock problems, hunter's chain traping, warlocks chain fearing and so on.
I'd say take a look at daoc for a balanced rps system. Some classes have advantages over the others, but you can kill any class with any class, more or less (battle bards? =p ) well, every class escept pure support ones, which war won't have.
Im not trying to hijack this thread and I dont doubt your skills but I have friends with HUNTERS (boooo I know) who can regularly kill 2 geared out rogues solo. I just have a hard time beleiving that the only class you have trouble with is a fury warrior.
Demo locks with 14k hitpoints are no trouble for you? cmon man... be real
Oh and as to your original post....if this game plays anything like DAOC, and I beleive it will, this game will not be balanced 1v1. It will be balanced for RvR or in other words large scale Group VS Group fights where classes play specific rolls for there group.
For instance, a solo Sorcerer in DAOC "COULD" be weaker 1v1 certain classes, but put a sorcerer in a GROUP setting and they become practically overpowered!!
Locks again are easy. Only thing you need to wait for is DC let that hit run the 3 seconds Clos off all the dots vanish bam restart stunlock.
As a rogue I get to pick my fights. With NECB I sit in stealth see that soandso lock just shot dc on this guy and i know for 2 minutes he has no chance of stopping me. Paladins are easy make them blow bubble early out of a sap and they are done. Its just a quick kick a KS and no more heal.
I don't expect this game to be balanced 1vs1. But I hope it will be at lower levels.
You should probably be aware that stealth-ganking will not exist in Warhammer Online.
There will be NO stealth class, thus no stealth. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
So, if you are going to play Warhammer, you should be prepared to leave your Rogue and stealth back in WoW.

I know in fact I quoted the developers about the stealth system they have implemented. Turn off your monitor and your in stealth.
They already said casters are only good nuking from far away, they wont be able to do much once tanks are on them. Mythic's balance has always been grp rvr realm balance. Never solo 1 vs 1 balance and not even for stealthers in daoc.
To me it seems like the RPS system is kinda backwords. In the middle ages it was the rogue type that killed the knights by stabing them where the armor didnt cover, The knights killed the alchemists (casters - throwing primitive bombs) because their shields and armor protected them and their bombs killed the rogues because they where not armored.
I just want there to be a way that any class can kill any class. Anyone else agree?

Till we all make our own games were going to have disappointment. I just use the forums to talk about what I would like to see. These are for discussion. Really dont care if these happen or not since I will play from day one. Frankly I prefer group based PVP to 1 on 1.
Makes this thread somewhat pointless then?
not 100% sure but i think they are making skill system like GW, ( max amount of skills on bar say 11 lot's of skill's to choose from say 101)

Not really we can still discuss what we like and dislike about group PVP or solo PVP. While its not based on 1v1 combat alot of times you are 1v1 and I would like to know I have a chance of winning.
