in Age of Conan: Unchained

I keep hearing about a "revolutionary" combat system and all sorts of glowing reviews of AoC as it looks now. What's so great, or going to be so great about this game?

    They've set the release date as 10/30/07, but if they need more time to ensure a better launch, I'd rather them take all of the time they need.

    I agree, we wouldn't want another nightmare rush like Vanguard. On another note, is it for sure going to require dx10 and vista.

    So, let me see. They want us to all play it, and by requiring Vista that's the only game we can play? I hate Microsoft. They can't get gamers to use their new OS so they force us to by requiring it.

    Please read it. The general FAQ on AoC's site. Near the bottom 

     

    You can play the game with Dx9 and windows XP, which means it doesn't need Vista or a dx10 graphics card to run it. It just supports those options.

    1.11 What does it mean to be a Windows Vista launch title?

    Age of Conan is a Windows Vista launch title. This means that we are cooperating with Microsoft in the development of Age of Conan to make sure it takes advantage of Windows Vista, the upcoming new operating system from Microsoft. As the first online game Age of Conan will also feature DX10 support, which allows us to bring an even more detailed gameworld to the players. The game can also be played on DX9.

     

    It doesn't specifically mention XP anywhere in there thanks. I'm sorry my lack of technical knowledge upset you...

    Im sorry I apologise if I seemed rash. Just been a along day, you can play the game with Vista or on pretty much any windows format, I just mentioned XP because it is the operating system most people seem to use. Sorry.

    To be able to get DX10 type graphics you have to have Vista but you cold also use  DX9 graphics card with Vista.

    Likewise the game will support pretty much all types of windows you can get. Sorry for coming across as rash, if there is anything else you would like to know by all means post away, and I or someone else will be happy to help!

    XP uses DX 9 - it does not need DX10 and Vista to run.
