Hey, Not sure if I should join or not? Because the game I have heard has a low pop lvl and so I do not know if it would be worth while to join what do you guys and gals suggest ??? I think it would be hard to play as a low lvl :S

Bump -- I would like to hear somebodies reply...
Server mergers are in the works and will be done soon....To put that into perspective VGplayers has a little over 9k guilded players and alts listed for the Gulgrethor server. It will be merging with 3 other servers. After checking the listed population of guilded alts and players this would mean that they are merging a little over 30K characters onto one server.
How many of those that are still activie, how many are going away because they weren't played in the last 30 days (stipulation of the server merger) and exactly how many unguilded players there are on those servers are the unknowns.
This will indeed increase the population on the servers, but not sure by how much...Hopefully enough for the lower levels to be able to group and have a good time. They just announced Update #2 for this game which will have an enhance LFG tool, so more population, a comprehensive tool to find groups, and a HUGE world to explore.
In my opinion it will be better than it has been.....not sure how much...but all the changes would suggest it would be a more positive experience than it has been as a low level
I'm not sure if I can recommend this game to you or not. It really depends on your expectations. If you are a sociable person, you will find people to talk to. Not sure about group with though. This game has been out for several months and most are high level. Not a lot of new players coming to the game, because of the bad reviews in spite of the game getting better.
Also, you can't buy the game expecting to be able to get as good as graphics as you got in your previous game. This games engine is not optimized to run on lower end computers and is not that great on mid ranged computers either. The game is playable on lower setting for mid range computers, but expect graphical anomilies every once and a while and poor performance until things get ironed out.
It's your call. I am playing it.

Wait for a while after server merge to jump in. The populations post-merge will probably not drop much from the combined totals now, because most anyone left is probably committed (pun possibility noted) and will not be put off by anything short of outright technological disaster. At the same time, some people may be waiting out the merge before resuming their play, so as not to have to redo much of what they would be doing now.
Join the game once it's out of beta. Looking at the pace of the updates this would mean in about 1 year.
The game has potential. Hopefully when it's finished in 1 year they will have made the game fun, added some decent lore and fixed the lifeless world with dead cities. Until then, some free games like Perfect World and Silkroad are much more polished so VG is not worth the money.
Imagine, for that money VG doesn't even have world shadows, water reflections or world particle effects, ... which are common features even in free games today (Perfect World even has free flight and territorial battles which VG still doesn't have; the VG devs have tried to make flight work for the past 6 months without success, the engine is so borked).
Well.. if you join, then quit.. you get EQ2 for free!!!
