Judging by how you type and your selection of words I think WoW is perfect for you. Stay there please.
LOTRO felt like nothing new besides the titles/etc. Engine felt kinda wrong like BF2 does for me, i'd suggest staying to WoW
it really depends on what aspect of the game you are looking for, questing? hunting? solo? raid instances? pvp?..
i gave lotro a try when it came out, but non of the classes fitted my playstyle.. (im more the crusader type) so it whasnt for me.. but if you like the books, than maby you should give it a try.
maby you get answers, if you ask question first..
if you dont know what you are looking for than the question is already answered!!
lotro sucks, get a free trial first....then wait for AoC
Elestik, it would seem as though you posted at the wrong time. :P (judging by the replies.)
I just quit WoW and joined LOTRO, after playing WoW since the day it came out. I'm really impressed with LOTRO. I would seriously suggest it if your looking for a breath of fresh air, and something with more depth and an actual story to follow. I'm not going back to WoW, ever. I'll be playing LOTRO for a long time, even though I do plan on trying Age of Conan as well! It's really fun, you should come play, and then message me on Brandywine!
Characters: Elliabelle, and Kaelie.
Hope to see you there. e-mail me or add me to MSN if you have more questions.
If you are a very casual player, who is heavy into roleplaying, and loves the LOTR lore, then you might like LOTRO.
If, however, you are looking for a well realized MMORPG with a fully fleshed out world, good combat dynamics, and a passable endgame, then steer clear of the snoozefest of LOTRO and stick with WoW or whatever.
Perception is Reality.
Lotro is very much the same like WoW, for most people that played WoW , lotro will be boring in the first 2-4 weeks. Offcourse there exceptions, so u will never know if uve tried for urself. But i never enjoyed lotro at all....just nothing new in that (but atleast i enjoyed the beautifull graphics but thats it)
IMO, there is no reason to switch games unless you just want to continue playing WoW with a different skin thrown on top. LOTRO is pretty much exactly the same game as WoW. Some differences include better graphics, and....um...did I say better graphics?
Seriously, if you have invested time into WoW and are still happy, there is no reason to switch, because after ten minutes or so, you'll forget which one you're playing anyway, other than the sweet-ass graphics LOTRO boasts.
Its like driving a red Toyota for a couple years then asking yourself, "Should I switch to a yellow Toyota?" Its the same, except the paint job is different.
As far as the argument goes that it's a clone or whatever...yes, it feels familiar, but yet totally fresh. And, the majority of the community seems to have taken on the age-old rule "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
So, Elestik, I may advise going through their forums to make the final decision as to whether or not you'll switch. Look for what people love and what they have complaints about, and their attitudes when they respond to these things.
Currently Playing: Nothing...I'm developing.
Looking Forward To:
Im old WoW-vet and currently playing LOTRO and loving it so far. You should try the free 3day trial.
