Just facts friend. 45% of suicide bombers in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia, most of the terrorits from 9/11 from saudi arabia.  Not to mention countless Saudi Arabian companies and millionaires accused of sponsoring Al Queda. Yeah these are our BFFs right there.

Not a fact... 45% of FOREIGN FIGHTERS are from Saudi arabia. And 50% of that 45% percent are beleived to have come to iraq to do bombing.

And considering Saudi Arabia is their neigbor and share a HUGE border with them... it would be logical to assume FOREIGN fighters would come from there... just like some of the other % is made up of jordan... and syria... BOTH neighbors aswell...astonishing.

    I'm confused.

Saudi Arabia was supposed to be one fo the biggest supporters of terrorist groups.

I thought that we were going to stop terrorism; now we're selling them satalite guided bombs?

Now lets look at the Bush administrations domestic policy. That would be the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004, in which American companies were allowed to repatriate foreign held profits back into the United States at an discount rate of 85% in order to create jobs. Some 100 companies repatriated about $300 billion, saving $90 billion in taxes.

What did they do with this savings to create jobs, you ask? Pfizer, the world's largest drug company, repatriated $36 billion at the discounted rate, and laid off 8,000 workers in 2006 and announcing layoffs of 10,000 more in 2007. Eli Lilly and Schering-Plough repatriated billions while laying off thousands. Technology companies like Hewlett Packard repatriated $14.5 billion in 2005, while cutting 14,500 workers. In some cases the tax savings were more than enough to cover the severance packages.

Where did these jobs get created you ask? Why, in overseas third world countries, where production and research has been shifted to take advantage of the lower costs. And in the latest twist, Congress has tweeked the tax laws to encourage companies to squirrel away even more profits offshore, so they can position themselves to take advantage of the next corporate tax holiday.

Isn't it just wonderful being a W-2 wage slave in America, and having prople like Fox News Bill O'Reilly looking out for your interests?

    --

Taxpayers pay:  23 Billion dollars (do the taxpayers of the USA get mad about this stuff?)

Good news for TRW and Lockheed shareholders.

even though the US gives out the most aid, we are by far giving out less based on our gross domestic product(everything we produce).  as a matter of fact both governmental parties want to increase foreign aid from the looks of it(librels for feeling getting everyone all better, conservatives for more trading partners).

you can expect quite a bit more in the future.

now lets see.  natinal aid isn't even in the top 7 for top spending.  persent wise the social security @!%, Natinal defense 19%, medicare 14%, Net Interest 9%(our debt), medicaid 7%, Other Mandatory 12% and non-Defense discretionary 18%.  in all our federal aid comes to about 1% of our federal budget.

if you want to save money on the federal budget do so in defense

THE USA SPENDS 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT ON MILITARY THAN THE REST OF THE WORLD COMBINED.

yes this is my country too.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

  • paulscottpaulscott Member Posts: 5,613

as for the arms deal, I'm against that, but that issue is tiny compared to the other screws of the govt.

  • truenorthbgtruenorthbg Member Posts: 1,453

    Right.

But be careful when discussing "aide."

The USA wants to give Egypt and Israel BILLIONS in military aide.  The USA also wants to sell Saudi Arabia satellite guided bombs.

Tuor's Foreign Aid Policy: eliminate it. ALL of it. To *everyone*.

That's right: I think the US should stop giving other countries our tax dollars.

That wont happen, though, because then we'd lose all sorts of control over other countries when we stopped bribing their leaders to do what we want.

I'm not sure what I really feel on the matter. In all honesty I don't care, selling arms to enemy and ally nations have been going on for years and years. The US is one of (not sure if it's true but I would say biggest, if not 2nd) biggest arms dealers in the world, it's no suprise to me.

Over all, sadly, I feel that the US is in pretty bad shape... Nothing I can really do about it heh. I want to live in the US but I have thought of moving to Sweden some day (they're neutral ). I doubt this one event will really change anything for better or worse, it might but I personally doubt it.... lack of sleep is killing my brain....

  • AirspellAirspell Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,391

Being neutral just means you will stand by as injustice is being done , it sure worked out for alot of countires , like sweden, who profiteered from ww2 though so who knows.

Nope. They've never supported terrorist groups... they have given vital anti terror intelligence to the USA.
