wouldn't it be cool...

if to customize your characters armor you could go into a virtually painting session with tons of different colors, and then just paint your armor the way you see fit.

"The Hickman": We have Armor dyeing in the game, just like in Camelot. So you can die your armor different colors, certain types of armor, there are a few that you can't.

Paul: No pink dyes on orcs! Pass that along.

"The Hickman": He and I are still arm wrestling about that one.

Paul: No pink dyes... or fuchsia, they called it fuchsia trying to confuse me.

as told to me in my post.. about the exact thing... 4 posts below yours.. hehe

Yes, because all this game needs is this.

    LOL

You make a good argument. As soon as you let people paint whatever they want on their chars, you open up a whole new can of worms. GDM gives a silly example, but that smiley face could have just as easily been something obscene, if you give people a chance

And that is just another thing that the mods would have to monitor. I dont think they are willing to give themselves that headache.

You're right. I wouldn't doubt half the people would make things like a penis or swastika on their armor thinking they're funny. Though as long as you can't import pictures onto armor it'll still generally be a T rating right?

I mean if I did 8====D we know what it is, but at the same time it doesn't have a profound impact on anything at all.

Armor dyes are one of the things that killed original EQ. I sure hope that WAR stays away from that BS. I want to be able to look at another player and be able to tell what gear they have by just looking at them. I'm all for guild logos, banners, tabards etc. but dyes need to stay out of MMOs.

Thats a shame then, because dyes have been confirmed as being in. Fortunately for you, they've also stated that they want you to be able to tell what class someone is at a first glance.

Personly I hope they keep the colors dark and brooding. this entire game is based on constant, unending, bloodshed. They only anomaly to the constant seriousness in the game is orks. They are the comic relief, and I for one think they are hilarious.

But really, just imagine, if you will, a dwarf (male or female) fitted in pink armor.

I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had.

Now what could be somewhat interesting is if Games Workshop offered people to buy a miniature of their character on Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.  The Mythic folks are intimate with Games Workshop and I would not be surprised to see something like that available. Gives Games workshop some premium work from hobbyists. I wonder if the zealot will be available as well.

Seeing as how this game is based on a tabletop game where painting/customizing your army is one of the biggest and most time-consuming elements of the entire thing, yeah, it'd be nice to have an "army painter" (for lack of a better phrase) for your character.

But I doubt we'll get one. Oh well.

    Again dies have been confirmed.

Orks are not the only bright colored characters of Warhammer.

Chaos - Vibrant greens, blues, and reds often found with those armies.

Empire - Vibrant blues, reds, yellows.

Elves - White, blue, and green.

Warhammer is a very vibrant world in contrast to how dark it's history is.

    - Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
