like many i had a bad experiance playing this game , so question is would you play if it did become free to play / much in the same way guild wars is ???
lol is nt it amazing how some people think they speak for everyone . hey maybe he does but lets have a bit of fun and see what other people think . maybe your wrong maybe your right . lol just glad you dont run a country lol it d be a dictatorship .
I wouldn't play even if it were F2P, since I don't want to use up 20 gigs on my HD and days downloading it. Maybe if I had a better rig and VG had a total revamp and another year of polish, then I might consider it.

i had bought (3) collector's editions & returned (2) of them unopened when i learned Sigil wasn't going to allow players/customers the choice of the ingame meek bonus of: Adventuring, Crafting, or Diplomacy. Luckily since unopened i was able to return the (2) CE & get a full refund. i played my (1) remaining Vanguard CE which had the Adventuring bonus for the month & like many learned Vanguard was simply not a finished game ready for release yet. i haven't played it since though weekly i will take some time to read the latest news & postings.
Being a previous EQ player of many years i was hesitant of SOE taking-over Sigil's debacle too, but i'm hoping that SOE has true intentions of bettering Vanguard not only for profit, but for the players'/customers' sake. i think it's still too early to tell about that though.
i voted that i would try it, but for me to stay with the game it would have to get better. After SOE's free trial though for Vanguard is released i think many potential & previous Vanguard players will make their final verdict. i hope SOE makes the free trial a true microcosmic representation of Vanguard though & not a smoke & mirrors, bait & switch tactic.
After following the progression of Vanguard from the original Sigil forums through the Microsoft days to the Vanguard SOE era i still have hope for Vanguard & i have been outspoken & really disappointed since it's launch. Most of that isn't SOE's fault though & it'll take some time to redirect Vanguard's path. So which direction will SOE usher Vanguard is the question?
If after the free trial is released for Vanguard & i have enjoyed it enough then it'll warrant my resubscribing & rebegining my Telon journey. i dabble in Guild Wars from time to time & i think it's a great game with it's own share of flaws, but if/when Vanguard meets the horizon of it's own potential i think Vanguard deserves subscriptions which then i'll gladly pay. Till then, the SOE gesture to former players that has something to do with EQ2 seems okay, but they should expand it to all paying All Station Access games unless there is a motive there for EQ2's sake. That Vanguard free trial will be a hugely weighed factor in decisions.

Yeah, I'm waiting to try the trial as well. Vanguard was a game I really struggled with when I started the beta. I wanted ot buy the game so bad since it had so much potential...But at the same time... :P
I'm really hoping SOE brings it up to par like they fixed EQ2.
Woah ,. 12 whole votes ! people truely give a F.... LOL this game was predicted by the fate of the teesters ... and so has it become the worst mmo ever made with 30 million dollars Great Job Sioe
I'll never play a SOE game again, especially if it's 'free'. I tried Mxo 'free' trial and got billed for the game and a station pass. SWG, EQ2, MxO, Vanguard... Fool me four times... I think i learned my lesson now.
Yes I'd download again at least. Probably not to play the game long term jsut to see how little / much the progress on performance has been.
The upcomnig trial isnt gonna let me do this on that stupid trial island thing which seems a cover up as to the games general state. So the likelyhood of me touching VG beyond a free month / free is low.
nice to see some responces . i guess inspite of what he thinks sathir does nt actually speak for everyone . dont you hate people who try and shout everyone down because they think thier view is paramount Mod Edit. thank god the worlds not full of people like that forums are places of open discussion if you dont want to be a part of it find one you want to follow m8 (guess you missed the point somewhere along the line) . its almost like you dont have anything better to do . personally i only follow one or two threads and i m interested to see just how doomed vanguard actually is . also i kind ve wonder how much this experiance will have repercussions on the mmorpg buying public in general . i ve heard several people say they wont buy any mmorpg without having a free trial because of thier bad experiance with vanguard . i know this is certainly true of me .
Nope. I gave it a month, another try about 3 weeks ago- and no, I wouldn't waste the time to download it if it wouldn't cost me a dime. There are much better games you can get for free as it is.

There are many reasons not to play VG, however these are two of the lamest.
As to a comparison with GW... Hard to do a GW payment pricing model with a game that isnt instanced.
They need to put 2-3 years of development into this game for it to be good enough for "free". Then I would have to think about it after the 3rd year.
Explain...just dont make some statement like that without saying what you think would take 2-3 years to fix or put into the game. When was the last time you played it?
no. my time is more valuable than the cost. If I thought the game was worth my time then I would play it and pay for it. As it stands now the only way i would play it is if they paid me $25 USD per hour for my time.
Being free would make it more probable for me to try it again, but I'm afraid the end result would be the same. Horrible gameplay and lack of content is still horrible gameplay and lack of content even if you're not paying for it.
If it is free, you will draw an unsavory crowd. And that goes for nearly any game unless you have a free server professionally and actively managed and monitored.
Vanguard is not, and will not, be a "free" game. Any discussion of it is to say, "I hate it so much! I want it to be free." That is the essence, the center, the very focus of it.
I do not want Vanguard to be free. I do not want people who are reading this who are flamers (in an online posting and real life sense) playing the games that I do. I enjoy Vanguard. Let them eat cake (or play WoW/LotR). Let us have our own game.

No cause the game wastes 20gb of my HDD.
+ It's butt ugly in blandness and horrible animations and character models.

Are you kidding of course i would its a very good game i think.
In reality tho im waiting for the free trial first before idecide so i hope it comes soon.

Sure. Free would bring me back, even if it was just while my primary MMO was down for maintenance / screwed up for whatever reason.

I miss DAoC
I could barely stand the time I spent in Beta but if it improved much at all since then I would give it a shot if it went free.
-Snowman <- this name was taken.....but I like it more

Iv never been so disapointed in my hole life
This game will go down in history as the bigest flop
Trust me, and I mean trust me, your "hole" life and your "disapointed" have nothing to do with Vanguard. Nothing.
Lol
Ya your right
But i really thought this game would rock....
And it... really bored me
