LOL I never understood the fascination for The Vision. Any marketing guy can write a nebulous vision doc which mostly consists of bigger better more of everything existing mmos offer. There's a big difference between having visions and designing a game. Little things like playability, hardware limitations, creating the right tools, choosing a suitable engine, coherent lore, etc. Brad is just a complete failure as a game designer.
Am I missing a point? Is the concept you are trying to convey that the "vision" is still buried? I never fully understood what the "vision" was supposed to be, but visions are generally over-arching, very long-term goals. I think the "vision" was not compatible with reality. A vision should be attainable but very long-term.
I Think it's saying that the vision is dead, however I think it was cremated not buried!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
Trash talking Vanguard is sooooo first quarter. The newest craze is currently moving from "LOTRO is boring" to "AoC is not going to be ready for release." Let's move on, shall we?

Heh. That's true. Even the "OMG! LOTR is too linear/boring" arguments are old now.
Honestly, though, with regards to AoC, I have to believe that Funcom has learned from Anarchy Online's botched launch, and they've seen what's happened to Vanguard. I'm hopeful that they're going to make sure that their game is in much, much better shape than either AO or VG when Conan goes live, even if it means a delay or an expanded beta.
Funcom's already had one botched launch. They're very lucky to be getting a second chance, and I think they know it.
If you really, and I mean really, tried you would/could do better. Try it. Stop. Think. Get creative. Bash me. Bash Brad. But do not use old and used comics that are cheap for it. Try it. Go on. Just try..
No idea , but his website looks about as good as he can make a game ...... Shear magnitude of his failure is pretty unparrelled by any game developer, not even Romero failed this fast .... btw , Romero is making an mmo so expect something wicked gory. With Romero he knows he isn't a great game programmer, but he is a good designer, and aslong as he surrounds himself with a triple A team that can deliver his designs and game concepts he will have something A grade .... Brad had failure surrending him , no one could convey his ideas into working mechanics, and the closest that Sigil development team got was eq2.5.
Let me step off my fun stool of defending Vanguard for a second.
Do you guys/gals really have this much of an obsession with Brad or is it show to just have fun and bash Vanguard?
when you sit around reading about a game for 4 years or more and read all the wonderful thingss it will , and finally the game comes and it is a P.O.S. then I think it is a right of passage too tourment the "vision"
I Heard Brad wears Vision Street wear shoes for Vision enhancemets +5 !
Definition of loser: those willing to pay for an unfinished product, sending out the message, that us gamers will buy any kind of shit.
MMO's are never really finished. Many people enjoy VG. If you don't then go play something else. Everyone has a game they play, and there are hundreds they dont for whatever reason. Do you feel the need to post on those hundred other forums about how much you think the game sucks? The very fact that VG doesnt enjoy the subscriber numbers that were predicted is message enough to game devs. Stuffing the forums with the same anti VG threads continuously and by the same same people just shows the lack of maturity of said people. Move on. Comment about the games you DO play.
I looked up the definition of loser in Wikipedia and all I saw was a picture of Brad Mcquaid, I asked Wikipedia what was happening and they said the problem was with my comp.

Heh, now that was actually pretty funny. And it was original as well.
The thing that gets me about some of you that like to continue to bash Vanguard is this:
Bashing Brad and his vision... fine.
Bashing an unfinished MMO game and/or it's dev team... fine.
Bashing a publishing company because it's name is SOE...fine. (I don't get it.. but whatever)
Bashing gamers because they play a game you don't like... NOT FINE
I've just never understood why some people can't seem to understand that we (as gamers) will NEVER like the same games. Just like we have different tastes in movies, TV shows, and food. Gamers will always gravitate to what they find fun for themselves, not what others tell them is fun. So, when gamers try a game... and find it fun. Who are we to tell them that they are wrong? I guess I just don't get it.

The title does not make much sense to me.
The comic is old.

If there was another frame to that comic... that should definitely have been the punchline.

Brad never had a realistic achievable vision. Vision is world shattering. VG shattered.

It is still an old comic.
And a boring subject.

I posted that cause I was looking at Brads homepage for any signs of suicide, but that comic will have to do ...
btw , I think he just bought a new crotch rocket, don't remember seeing on his page before....

Old as it may be, I still had a laugh.
Wasn't there a thread with numerous comics mocking this game awhile back though?
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

Yeah, the comic is old, but the message is as true as ever. Means only one thing : Brad never had a vision. I'm sorry, fans, but Brad is knocked out!
The definition of a loser: People who still manage a negative comment in every Vanguard post even though they havent played the game for half a year.

think the gamer bashing was done by the outstanding folks of the Vanguard Community.

One of my favorite past times with Vanguard was being told to "Go back to WoW!" by the die-hards.
Now, these same people are pleading for me to come back to give Vanguard another chance.
I found that amusing
