How is PvP in eq?

I know its not a pk fest in eq, but if you want to, pvp is available right? What about theives? Can they only steal from npcs or can they steal from other players?

    There will only be duels at release in EQ II.
    No PvP servers but maybe at a later time.
    The EQ concept is not PvP driven but purely PvE.

    Same with theft.
    You might be able to steal a few coins from the NPCs but never from a Player.
    This is not Ultima Online you know.
    ::::31::

    PvP has never been a big thing in EQ I and i can't find any reason why it should have a major role in EQ II.
    It will only lead to more and more unbalanced gameplay and nerfings.

    Well I happen to agree...in EQ1.....

    the game was not PvP driven...and on main servers it was Duels only so in EQ2.....you from what i here PvP will not be in game at rerlease....idk about being able to duel.........

    but maybe in later Expansions or patches....they will add full PvP servers where it will be open PvP except in towns....I think...ya know somehting like that....

    and since pvp will not be out on release....

    I can not give any info on the penalties on Pking or getting Pked.........I wish i could but..lol i;m sry

    Is there such things as guild wars in eq? How about spells that affect an area? Do they just miss pcs?

    I am not sure how they will deal with guild wars in eq2, but in eq1 they did exist and all members of the opposing guild became free game pvp until the end of the war.  As for AoE spells, they only effect those mobs that they could effect.  So they ignore your allies and hurt your foes.  That is, on non PvP servers, but since pvp servers won't be up at launch it shouldn't be a problem.

    I personally am not a fan of PvP when it comes to MMO's. From past experience, Ive found that to often people almost cheat. For me it really brings down the joy of the game. I loved EQ1 being PvE and being able to play with folks and not worring about them killing me. I do like going against other players in other games, but for EQ/2 im not going to be a PvP type. Well I shouldnt say that. My main play time wont be PvP. Ill probably try it at some point when the put it in.
