Well anyone that has played forumfall(sitting in darkfall forums) knows that darkfall is coming out, no its not vaporware. does vaporware release dev journals monthly with videos? well anyway here is a article written by surly about darkfalls past and future.

Surly's Column: State of the Game: Darkfall, Razorwax and Aventurine, Here's the Rub

heres the most important things:

"With the latest news to be uncovered, it appears Aventurine has procured a 20 million Euro convertible bond ($27.5m USD) loan with Marfin Bank[27] at the behest of Proton Investment Bank of Greece[28].  I can't help but think that no more than $25m of that would be dedicated to initial server hosting and publishing. Without much enthusiasm or presumption, I would submit that the wait for Darkfall is over. $27.5m loans tend to be a bitch to pay off interest on, especially when sitting squarely on your laurels. The clamps are most certainly down, and Aventurine is financially committed to the launch of Darkfall whether they like it or not. Whether that's a good thing or not is also yet to be seen, because for the first time in its long development Darkfall Online is subject to the most dreaded of all development problems: time constraints. Given Aventurine's recent admission that they will not even be capable of entertaining their scheduled WarCry update by writing it ahead of time on or around the 15th of August[30], I think it's a safe assumption that mid-August will see Darkfall's public servers online, and functional. Recent business trips which left Tasos outside of the country[31] would even indicate that they wouldn't necessarily be located in Greece. As I stated in a previous article, public beta by October, or I'll club a baby seal."

Not flamming but to flame a game for taking its time to develop is hypocritical.  You people are the same ones who will moan and cry about a game being rushed to release.

Can I ask why flame a game youve spent no money on ?  Why flame a game you havent played , no one has played.  How can you make a rational flame about a game you have not played ?  I'm just curious to the flammers out there how do you justify flamming a game youve spent nothing on ?  How can you flame a company for taking there time to release THERE GAME.  Its not your game, they owe us nothing until we start paying to play.

I'm not flaming the game, I'm discrediting the company behind the game. I don't believe the game exists, how is that flaming? Until Aventurine proves me wrong with an outside 3rd party review, an official BETA or something other then internal company handouts that show nothing as to the games functionality, it's vaporware.

I'm not against Darkfall, I'm just against Aventurine, there is a difference.

You think companys waste millions on stuff that doesnt exist man ?   I dont mean to sound like an ass, but the conspiracy theories are old.

Yes  the game has been in development for so long with no 3rd party review or beta, and the fact they dont go to E3 in US to show the game off hurts them, but given that it is there game isnt it ?  SHouldnt they dictate when its released and when people can revview and beta test it ?

Could that be the reason why you'r so obsessed with Aventurine?

"There's a pet troll/stalker we've had with us for about 3 years, the ex webmaster of a now apparently defunct MMO project, who's been sending private messages through our boards, and posting for whoever will listen, claiming that Darkfall is/was up for sale among other things. This of course, along with everything else he's been saying over the years has nothing to do with reality.

This guy has been sending us hundreds of email messages for about 3 years from his home computer, apparently unaware that hotmail reports the originating IP. The content of the emails ranges from hate mail, to spam about his game, to threats, to childish attempts at impersonating publishers, investors etc. He's also been diligently, trying to slander Darkfall on game boards, again from his home PC and using a lot of aliases.

While this has been amusing, in a village idiot kind of way, it's about time we clarified for those who are susceptible to buying into this pathology. This kind of thing has happened before, and it's extremely sad to see the ugly face of what some people think are competitive practices."

  • sirespersiresper Member Posts: 317

If they know who the guy is, they know where he is connecting from, they know his isp etc...

why have they allowed him to do it for 3 years? Why not just make a call and get his service cancelled? Every isp has policies about that sort of thing. If they spent the time and effort to track the guy down, they surely have the minute to make such a call.

Something kinda smells fishy to me.

Thats a fine and dandy speech by Tasos, but uhm, doesn't answer any of the current doubts floating around now does it? It's easy to say "Hey, we have a pest on the internet that won't leave us alone and has been bugging our fans with lies for 3 years." but he seemed to have left out which lies are the pests and which lies are Aventurines. I'm pretty sure everything I've brought up about Aventurine is not lies, unless this pest somehow managed to hack into the Darkfall website twice now to advertise BETA's.

See, it's these vague statements by Tasos that lacks reassurance about the game. If he can't be specific about what lies were created by this pest, I highly doubt the lies are even the root of the problem and he's just using this as a scapegoat for the game's gloomy outlook. My best guess, BETA #3 is not going to happen and Tasos is playing his cards now to prepare the fans in a subtle, it wasn't our fault, manner.

He was being specific about it. They said the guy was posting about DF being up for sale. So anything else started by that guy was a lie too if you want to i suppose you could look it up though they might not possibly be there. Your just being ridiculous they were wrong a couple of times get over it.

He showed them the guy that was spreading the lies was a fake. I guess some people might not find that reassuring. Whats the point in listing everything when everybody at the time probably knew the guy that he was talking about. 3 years of harrassment? not a problem? Wow what fuked up reality are you living in.

Its not like you gave aventurine your virginity, so get over it.

Like I stated before, we are about to try BETA #3 and we'll see how that turns out. All I'm doing is waiting for Aventurine to prove me wrong. Until then, I can make any assumption I like based on the available information given about the game. And where in my last post did I incline that the 3 year pest wasn't a problem? I simply think Aventurine is using this as an excuse now for some unknown reason. I'm sorry, if you can't recognize that this is going on for 3 years, your in a world of hurt. I mean this dude sent emails directly to the company, come on, WAKE UP!

They found it amusing which is why they let it go on for a while. Eventually all things lose their luster so thats when they put their foot down.

I'm less concerned about the game being released in beta, and more worried that when the game is finally released it will be the spiritual successor to Shadowbane....

"The Greek coast guard caught up with fleeing bandits this afternoon, who were trying to make a quick get away to Turkey with a leaking row boat. The notorious criminals, who were once recognized for coding one of Greece's top army simulation program, failed to return a bank loan of 20 million euros (plus intrest), after their massively multiplayer online game, Dork-falls, which many thought would change the genre, failed to sell more than 12 thousand copies (worldwide).

Unfortunately for the con-men, the coast guard destroyer sailed right through the row boat, killing all occupants. Army officials blame faulty simulation program, created by ... Aventurine employees."

Yeah, but the Pakistanies are a way more hardcore crowd than Aventurine, they would PvP murder them asap.
