Turbine has announced a referral program fro Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, where players can gain game time by referring friends to the game.
We're proud to announce the Turbine Referral Program, a great way to earn free game time by introducing your family and friends to The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar! It's so easy an orc can do it!
The Turbine Referral Program lets paying subscribers of The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar refer friends to play the game and receive free game time for successful referrals, subject to certain terms and conditions (see myaccount.turbine.com/referral/rules). Each of your referred friends will be sent a Guest Key to try the game for free for ten (10) consecutive days!
For every friend that buys the retail edition of the game, registers a retail product key at myaccount.turbine.com, and subscribes to the game, you'll get a referral credit that can be redeemed for 30 days of FREE game time that can be added to your subscription to that game! If you're already a Lifetime Member we'll issue you a 30 day game card key to give to a friend who is a game subscriber.
Read more about the referal program here.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could refer me. I would love to try the game.
Thanks in advance

LoL Turbine already resorting to this a couple of months after launch, they must be desperate.
Desperate? This (or a free trial) is one of the best ways to build up a user base. I'm always surprised at the number of MMOs that launch without them.
A friend was going to use this to give me a test account but the section to refer someone isn't visible for him
MMO's Played: 20 , Closed Beta: 9 , Open Beta: 3 , Currently:Warhammer Beta
Guild: Futilez
So, what do people (like me) get, who already have a lifetime account?

Leg dich nie mit einem BAOD an, oder du bist selber dran.
Didn't bother to read the actual article now did you...
Now that's sad.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
I would also love it if someone could send me a key so i can try the game, been tempted to buy it but not before i see how it runs on my computer, Thanks in advance.

Be careful sending referrals to strangers - it says in the 'fine print' that the 10-day 'referral' key is tied to your retail account, so if they do bad stuff, like spamming for gold famers, you can get banned too... just a warning when all the goldfarmers start posting 'plz refer me' posts on all these forums.
When scary things get scared, that's bad...
Well, luckily i'm not one of those people, thanks whoever sent me the referral, installing now
hm, does seem kind of odd that they feel they have to run an incentive program to attract more players. One reason may be that they planned ahead and have built in extra server capacity and now want to fill it up.
What i don't want to see is :"Next month will be Double Exp Month!!!!"
or "We'll be merging our servers soon..."
I'd like to try as well if anyone fancies referring me.

Cheers!

I predict it won't be long til you see the double experience nonsense, as if that actually retains the very people who leave because the game is too easy already. The word is out, LOTRO is too easy and because of that, just isn't fun.
If some one could send me a referral before 8/10/07 I would very much appreciate it.
I have already bought a copy but I want to find out if I will need to upgrade my older system before I start paying for the subscription. I'm in no real hurry since I'm still playing WOW.
As for being a gold spammer: If some one told me 30 years ago that they'd play space invaders for me if I gave them 29.95$, I'd smack them. I guess the only real proof I have is that I dont think I'd use an end date on my request but ill give up and register buy then.
Thanks much all
