But I'm just guessing how they do it.
And as to those who break NDA's I'd guess most do it cause they've decide the game isn't for them and they no longer care if they get booted.
It's totally random. They never asked for my computer specs. I find I normally I get chosen for beta's very early on because I have a high end computer. Yes, that is the secret for getting chosen.
I was chosen about two weeks ago for beta. My biggest complaint with the game is they limit your days that you can play. During the week the servers are for the moist part closed and or for euro players. On the weekends you can play pretty much anytime. The game was ok nothing ground breaking or anything that made me say holy &^(&^. I probably will never play it again.

It's not totally random, I know that for the 2 games where I made 1st round beta we where custom picked for various reasons. But beyond that I'd agree it's mostly random.
I built this new box specifically to beat TR's estimated system requirements and applied as soon as soon as NCSoft put the application link on my account page, and still have not yet gotten in.

No doubt they will select more as time moves on (prob an open beta at some point to test load management) but in the meantime at least you have a kick-arse PC to use.
I used to visit this site a lot however in recent years it has become the home of negative forum posts, illogical opinions and tantrums so I visit less often.

I paid for the Founders Club once a year or two ago. I forget why. I'll never do it again though. It's such a scam.
I have been a member for years (comcast's game invasion comes with it).
I have gotten into lots of beta's (got the invite into WAR's) but have not seen TR listed yet. I tried a search on fileplanet and all thats showing is the movies.

Dude, I could kiss ya. Here i am sitting at having 3 weeks off, BioShock is just far enough out of my reach I'm not getting it during that time, and I thought to myself, "I should really get into Tabala Rasa beta". So I browse this board and what do I see? Some ignorant putz who thinks being in the fileplanet founder's club automagically grants him beta keys.
Door's wide open, boys and girls - at least until Fileplanet runs out of keys. $9.95/mo. No, I'm not telling you how to get there, that's your test.
Oh, to answer your question, Tabula Rasa doesn't have open PvP but they do have certain PvP events.
Oh, fair warning - if your specs can't handle this game, it won't give you a key, so don't waste your money if you don't think your computer can handle it.

First off... tks, I had never gone to the site as i am always sent email that I follow the links streight to fileplanet to download.
Anyway, I just applyed and was told that my system was not up to the min standards... WTH? I have (4) 3.6G AMD, 1g Athlon Vid, 120g hd, 1g memory game systems tied to the net using the Comcast game invasion connect (6g up 4 g down) so HTH could my systems not run the game then it hit me........
.2 ment less than not what I had read... as I read it (my system) > 3.2
So instead of sliding down and picking >=3.2 because I was in a hurry I just shot my self in the foot as now it will not let me go back and put the actual specs in. Oh... I have a 6 system lan in my game room. so actually only have 2 sustems that are under spec for the game..... But it will not let me enter any of my other system specs...

Your pc is fine, its just has to meet the minimum spec. Here it is so you know www.playtr.com/beta/index.html, they blocked my account even tho i have a dual core and a 8800
Darn even tho its on the fileplanet page my Fileplanet subscription dosnt work so i guess its a different subscription (IGN founders club ) it says i passed the test but i need a sub darnit !

Thanks for the link.
It seems they don't (officially) support Windows 2000, and with the policy of not even letting people try with lesser specs, I can stop worrying about getting a beta key.
Maybe I'll try if it runs anyway in Open Beta. In the meantime, back to EVE....

Limited play time is stock standard for a game in closed beta.
If you want 24/7 access you should try games when they are in open beta just before release.

Someone missed out on being a hall monitor and now the rest of us have to bear the grudge forever and ever.
