Problems with Vista...

in Planetside

Anyone else run on Vista?  32 bit home premium version here, updated video and sound card.  I've been trying to get it working all day, but it consistantly locks up right before entering the world.  Or at any time during that loading screen atleast.  Windows will pop up and say "a problem has prevented this program from working" or something along those lines.  No help on planetside's side either.

    I really hate vista atm I tried to upgrade my laptop with it but a lot of the drivers (sound, graphics) are still not out. Its really buggy right now and gonna wait till they iron out the bugs and release new drivers. Im still gonna run xp.

    how about running it as windows xp sp 2. in combatiblity mode.

    As xSSx said, the tips in this thread got it working for me. In fact, the "alternate compatability settings" at the end of the first post were all I needed to do - runs just fine in Vista now. Of course, your mileage may vary... Good luck!

    It had a workaround for me as well.

     

    Run in Win95 Compat mode, the last three boxes checked, and run in admin mode.  I love it when I've given up on something, then I look back at the monitor to find it working.
