Naruto Online!!!!!

Do you think it would be a good idea to bring it out?

Edit: You could not play as any of the main characters, but design your own, and was not level based but skill based whereas you had to master skills during training, but you could choose 2 of the other main chars to join you and you could make a squad, a bit like in naruto. You could either side with the goodies or baddies, or different villages and have to fight the opposition. You would start off with only a few skills, but in time you could master more and more and fill your hotbar with all the different skills you learnt.

Thoughts?

You'd enjoy a MMO where you one of the hundreds on each of those characters running around on the same server?

I could just google to see what or who "Naruto" is, but something tells me I don't really wanna know...

if they made one i'd play it, 100s of different jutsu's and fighting styles man it would be great.

as long as its skill based and not lvl and they limit a few things

There is a Naruto fighting game coming out in not too long, and I believe that is the best potential a game of the Naruto franchise has. Al though it could be interesting to have an MMORPG with the same theme as the animes like naruto, bleach etc.

    Think of LOTRO?

There are several Naruto games around at the moment, although I don't believe some of them qualify as mmos, and I'm not sure which ones are legitimate. I think Narutimate ninja 2 or whatever it's called has online.

i think the only way to make a naruto mmo would be to set the story inside that world

and have different ways of "evolving" ur own character.

theres no way it can be successful if they just use the chars of the anime.

I guess instead of picking class you'd pick village and either pick your clan or have it random generated.  Probably would be a heavy pvp and rvr game.  Still, dont look for this one to ever be made for real.

The game name could be The Shinobi world(it would take palace in Naruto world) and no Naruto or others anime chars can be taken.you are just a ninja who starts as a genin.

I think any idea has potential it just depends on how the idea is carried out! I think the game would be good if the main characters from the game were NPCs and/or used in instanced training sessions to learn different jutsus from. It should also be purely skill based, and sandbox styled.

  • ForcanForcan Member UncommonPosts: 700

It could work, when you CANNOT pick any of the main characters.  You could model after them, but not become them...

Combine with a complex enough system of jutsus and skills, you could have an interesting game.

BTW, this would also mean that if you want great battles between ninja, pick a better timeline than the manga/anime one.  Maybe one of the great ninja war (i.e. BEFORE the anime/manga)... it gives more freedom in design and storyline.

    Current MMO: FFXIV:ARR

Past MMO: Way too many (P2P and F2P)

I agree. I've been wondering when they're gonna come out with an online game. The OP has a good point about teams too. Control up to three at a time just like SOTNW. It'd be cool to have unique NPCs too.

The idea sounds like mass pvp.  Hell yeah!!!

    Ballistic!

Well there is a Dragon Ball Z  MMORPG about to go into Closed Beta in korea.  So a Naruto MMORPG can't be too far behind.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

As much as i LOVE naruto, look what happened to LOTRO and then tell me if you still want a naruto mmo

  • dhartzdhartz Member Posts: 482

I can see it now, Pein, Blue Hair, Tobi/Uchiha Madara & Kabuchimaru (Kabuto with oro's cells after Sasuke killed him) beeing the last raid bosses ^^. Anyway it would be a good idea but it has to wait till the manga is finished.

Man this gives me a headache, i swear i saw something about a Naruto 3d mmo being developed but can't remember from where... trying to find it again DOH!

  • FastTxFastTx Member UncommonPosts: 756

I could easily see it happening, but a different way than the OP suggested, and the IP for Naruto is huge anyways, you would attract a huge playerbase easily.

The problem with this is it wouldn't really work on a "level" based, or I hope not, rather you train to specialize in certain skills you wish and of course you pick your village, you pick your element and you eventually pick a "sub" element later on. There are no classes in Naruto so I sure hope it's not class based, I hope it would be more about picking out certain skills and finding the most efficient battle combo's.

Then of course most Shounen Anime's would be a good idea for a MMO, they are all about the characters getting stronger and getting new skills and killing bad guys. What more do you want for an MMO?

Naruto would be a GREAT MMO if done right.  They have a shitload of jutsus, clans, villages, and lore right now.   It would definitely have to be focused on pvp, but could have great stories for pve (or both).  I've been waiting on this game to come out for a looong ass time now.  Highly doubt it's gonna happen.  Maybe if that DBZ mmo does decent Naruto might follow.  So far all the Naruto fighting games I've played were fun.  I'm sure someone could do something for a MMO.  Anybody that doesnt think it at least has potential has never watched the show (or read the manga).

All of the kids into Naruto now, won't be into it when the MMO would release 3+ years from now....

  • CactusmanXCactusmanX Member Posts: 2,218

I have to agree, with the developement time for MMOs being in the years, if you started now, most likely the Naruto craze would pass before the game got released.  Had it been in developement for a couple years already and was to release soon I think it would do well.  But in a few years most everyone will have moved on to the next anime and the only people playing a Naruto MMOG would be the die hard fans, it would be the equivalent of releasing a DBZ MMOG now.

    Believe It!

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
