I am reading a lot of negativity around here, these past few days, I'd like to see who make the general public, just to clarify some bits for me. Tell me your story!
Comments
I am mainly AOC follower , and have some interest in POTBS...but i certanly plan to make AOC my main game
As for WAR - to much WoW-ish for me.
And yes, of lately i am posting negative comments. I think that many signs point to something fishy. I do hope i am wrong about it , but will continue concerned posts until I am proven otherwise.
Regardless of anything. I am not planing to buy any game , ever again - until i test it first...
I hate loaded Polls. lol, i am 3 of these things, and this isn't a negative. I play WoW, I am following WAR AND am following AoC, since it comes out next(hopefully). I just like mmorpgs in general, will play em all, always look forward to new ones, and currently enjoying WoW and EQ2.
Love not hate, they are just games people, things that ENTERTAIN. http://images.mmorpg.com/images/emoticons/emt_spin.gif

Following AoC and War and playing till something better comes out.
I'm more interested in WAR at this point just because I'm feeling AOC is going to be the first month of vanguard all over again with most people saying "man I can't run it!" and a ton of stuff being bugged.
While I could almost go as far as to say AOC might be as fun or more fun that WAR is looking to be, and I'm not advocating people sitting on shitty 6 year old computers trying to play games, but you've can't get people playing that can't run it well. So far I've seen gaming conventions where they've had WAR running on 3-year old machines that run things like 6800's and a gig or two of ram and it ran great. On the AOC side, I've seen recent gameplay videos on dev machines that had heavy lag moments with not many people around at all.
I'm just a bit skeptical, and I know I'm not the only one fearing Vanguard DejaVu with AOC. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope this game wildly succeeds. I love the way the controls and combo system looks, and the classes look great too.
i don't think you can really generalize.
i follow AoC, but i try to play most of the MMOs that are released, am in another closed beta and will also play WAR at some point.
and i am also an olditmer. i started playing MMOs with UO back in '97.
Sure, there are a lot of MMO identities out there, some people fit them all, but my question is, if you had to chose only one of those identities, which would it be?
I follow WAR.
AoC sounds interesting too, but it's too risky to actively follow that game IMO, too much can go wrong. (And I have yet to see an actual PvP Battle between two Players, because the praised Combat system to me sounds like it will be a pain to play in PvP)
WAR on the other hand can't do many things wrong, it has tested systems in place that worked in other MMORPGs already, and spices them up. It has convention visitors beating the hell out of other convention visitors, and everyone has fun. The combat worked in WoW, and even though WAR makes substantial changes in that System, it's still pretty risk-free.
I'll test AoC ~2weeks after release anyway, but I don't hold my breath for it.
I follow AoC. But since it's still a ways off I'm in love with Fury right now.
I follow War but i check AOC stuff out. I want AOC to do well but i just don't think it will.
