I hope you need around 4GB and a Quad processor or something to run AoC at a maximum.. Even though this means that close to nobody will be able to run it with the best graphics avalible, it means that even if you have a good computer when the game launches, you can still upgrade and the game will look even better.. I can't see a problem with having great graphics even though most people wont be able to see them yet, you'll be able to in a while..

WoW had decent graphics when it was released, but they werent great, and it didn't take long before they were really outdated and I'd consider them to be pretty poor right about now. I hope the graphics in AoC will continue to look awesome a year or two after release at least :)

Assuming of course the game supports quad-core. I know it does duel-core, so I'd assume.

Well - v86 Vista only allows a max of 4G address space, but x64 can handle about 10 billion times more RAM, up to 16 Exillion Ms to be precise (2 ^ 32 = 4,294,967,296 whereas x64 is 2^ 64 = 18,446,744,073,709,551,616).  Worse yet for v86 is the fact that the 4G of address space is not needed just by RAM - hardware uses adress space too.  In a typical gaming rig as much as 1.5G of that address space will be used by hardware other than RAM making the practical limit of usable RAM in a 32bit OS (XP, Vista, or otherwise) around 2.3 to 2.5Gs.  For those not keeping score - this means we are just about maxed out so unless software and games start doing all these great new things that DX10 and such promise with less RAM or at least with no more RAM 32bit is EOL for gaming, at least for these next gen titles.

In short - go x64 or you are not likely to get the same performance you have even now (since Vista x32 itself uses more of the RAM you have than does XP).

Actually theye were outdated before release the textures had a low resolution compared to contempory games of that time. Covered up by the cartoon graphics.

That video makes me kind of nervous about the game. Yes, the foliage looks good. The graphical levels are nice. But whenever the guy entered combat with 2+ enemies, the game froze for a couple seconds, caught up, froze for a couple more seconds, and had quite a bit of stutter during the combat. Imagine now if that was in a siege with hundreds of players per side. Games Convetions in Leipzig will be an absolutely critical time for AoC as Funcom will finally show this siege combat. However, if it's just a video shown from behind closed doors (read controlled environment) I'm going to be very disappointed. With how AO was released, Funcom needs to show live, actual gameplay in these PvP sieges. To do otherwise just reinforces the nervousness many people feel about Funcom keeping things closed off.

I was NOT impressed. Sure the graphics are good but the lag in the game was pretty bad.
