Ok so I'll be starting WoW any time in August, and I was thinking about getting some server (or should I say realm) advice. There's just waaaaay too many realms to pick one at random. Are there any realms that stand out?
I'm looking for a realm that is not too immature, good number of players and has kind players.
I'm going to experiment to see whether I like regular or RP servers. I do not plan to get into PVP until later into the game, but suggestions on these are appreciated.
Also, I will not join a low populated realm, I will join either a medium or high. What's are the benifits and disadvantages of medium and high populated realm?
One more thing, is it possible to delete a character?
Thanks!

i hate my server. I'm considering a transfer, anyone know a good one?
one that has a decent horde/alliance ratio, unlike mine which is 75/25 or something ridiculous like that.
one with a high population! i can't STAND waiting 4 hours to find a group anymore!
and friendly guilds, that talk, and help each other with quests, and, oh, i don't know, act like a guild?!?
i play alliance btw
Currently Playing : WAR, UO, RL
Oh yeah that's something else I'd really like, a good Alliance/Horde ratio.
If i remember correctly you can sort the realms by popularity.....High / Medium / Low populations, RP / PVE / PVP n all that. You can delete a character instantly or keep them on as many servers as you want. As far as finding mature / immature players...well there gonna be some on all the realms. You just need to find that niche where you fit in...theres always a few good ppl to play with if you just search and give it time. Don't rush into the first guild that invites you....never know whats around the corner. I waited till i was almost 40 and found some really nice older players that were very organized and helpful. Made the game fun! No arguing, no listening to kids talk about boobies and getting upset at ppl!
a good/bad server can make all the difference in the world really. if its maturity thats important i'd say go with an rp server. i play on sentinels server its a med pop server. has probably 3:1 ratio of alliance to horde which sucks as i am horde haha. just keep in mind that while rp servers are more mature the starter zones are full of idiots like ALL the other servers. our server is just hitting its stride as we have a nice population and the economy is getting a better. there is no queue for av its almost always instant and theres about a 2-3 wait on ab and wsg(lvl 70 bracket) and which ever bg is have bonus honor weekend its always instant you never wait this is horde side btw not sure how the alliance side is.
if you're curious just come to our realm forum and ask any question you have.

Well first off you can check the realm forums online and see what kind of threads there are. Of course, this doesn't mean the forums accurately represent the kind of people that play on the server. Second, you can try the different server types and choose which you enjoy the most. PvP servers are usually harder to level on because of, well, pvp. Also, you may want to check the age of the realm. I play on one of the original launch realms so pop. on those are usually high-full. Be warned though, lag may be worse than on one of the newer servers and it is often much harder to catch up gear wise because many of the older and larger guilds are on these servers so their raid progression is most likely higher on average than those on newer servers.
I hope this helps in your choosing of a server. Good luck, have fun

I suggest one at the top of the alphabetical list.
Does anyone know a good European Server that is mostly populated with mature players, people who like to socialize, and who are helpful?
