I'm not a WoW hater. But IMHO their first expansion sucked monkey balls and ruined a lot of what made the game great. Well, that and WoW pulls the biggest bait-and-switch in the industry. Inviting you in to this open, polished, fairly deep world that lets you play like you want to play, and then you hit 60 (now 70) and realize that you get to spend the rest of your days grinding rep, getting tiered gear and doing the same rehashed old raid instances 100 times in a row (if your lucky.) WoW is to the MMOG world as McDonalds is to fine cuisine.
Content runs out. There is no bait and switch. Or, are you one of those brilliant minds that thought quests would NEVER end, new areas to explore would always be there, and levels would go on forever. Yes, you're a WOW hater or just completely ignorant to MMORPG design, because every MMORPG you played before WOW forces you to do the same thing over and over again eventually if you want to progress. Thats IF the game even lets you progress. Single player content ALWAYS runs out. Thats why single player games end. Have you not noticed that all online multiplayer games MMORPG or not get highly repetitve at some point?
Thx for mentioning that cause I was about to go 'Wth have some criticisms of WoW and now your I'm a belligerent hater?'
There are a lot of WoW haters out there, I agree. But I wonder why there are. Sure, people hate the successful guys, they always have. But I wouldn't doubt if a fair bit of them are just critical of where the game has gone in the 2 years of release, or have some other sour experience with the game, and lash out at it because of it. But alas, that isn't the topic at hand.
hehe, i see you have read my first edit before i decided to delete the post all together :P Nah, nothing personal... i was just speaking about wow haters from a general point of view mate. Maybe i'll open up a brand new thread about it in a few days or so, cheers
Woohoo! When they released the burning crusade, They gave old players 2 weeks of freeplay! Maybe with the release of the lich king, Us freeloaders will get another 2 weeks of free expansion time!

Maybe we should ask them to make the game easy and just give everyone top tier items with no effort or teamwork needed to aquire.Better yet Blizzard could do just like SWG did and give the hard work that others had to do to the entire community free.Tru they can find better ways to earn things in a game but the game would not be rewarding if it were easy to get now would it?
I love the scenery of the forest/cliff area. and I bet'cha all sorts of WoW junkies are going OMG FIRST HERO CLASS... needless to say those(plural) were supposed to be in the first version.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Another expansion, another waste of money, that make people getting more and more addicted to this crap... Blizzard copy all the good features that most of the new mmorpg under developpment are going to have.. They will badly implement these features and it's will ruin more the game so anyways ...
Any other asinine predictions you would like to make Mrs Cleo? Or do I have to use your 1-800 number? Every time someone says WoW you show up and make, probably what I rank as the stu****** comments. Your hatred of WoW would even make the SWG NGE crowd sort of squimish. Think you should relax before you give yourself a stroke or something.
I mean I could understand hating certain things passionately, but it's just a game. I think you need a hug or maybe a role model.

hehe i wonder how many will start now to play a paladin to lvl 70 couse it could most likely be the requirement for the death knight

Hmm ok i love how you care of my @#$@# opinion about the next expansion that will ruin even more the game. I played the WoW for a while (1.5 year), and it's got me bored as well as many other people on this website (not going to explain the reasons because it's repetitive to read the same hating posts from many players about it )so this is why I express my hating regarding the game and it will be the first and the last post about my WoW hate.
Hero classes were a planned feature IN BETA, much like punishments for killing lower levels and plenty of other things NEVER promised. I wish we had them, but name a person that didn't play because hero classes never made it on day 1;)

I had more fun killing Diablo, Baal, and Pindleskin then I did in any of Wow's instances (except for deadmines, which conveniently is the first and best instance of the entire game). The point here is that it's not about content running out, it's about just how good is the repeatable content. The simple fact is that wow's content by its very nature is eaten up quickly and never returned to (bind on pickup, most loots only found on one boss, no random modifiers on loot). This is simply bad game design, and that's why wow isn't a very good MMO. That's not even to mention the vast amount of features available in other MMOs that you don't see in wow (such as player run economies, housing, player cities, high quality crafting, etc).
The point is that it's not about how MUCH content is in a game. It's about how good that content is. The simple fact is that wow content is not very enjoyable in the long term, unless you happen to be part of the very small minority that actually enjoys the pure raiding end game. There's LOTS of other stuff to do in MMOs then raid. I wish you people would figure this out.
I'm one of those people who was suckered into buying the burning crusade. I purchased it because although raiding was still in the game, it appeared on the surface that there were viable ways to play the end game then raiding every night. Sadly, only two months after the expansion was released the raids started arriving, thus negating anything that crafters could make. In a very real sense, this is a bait and switch. It's not like I'm gonna sue Blizzard over it, and I just quit the game after a month instead, but a very strong argument can be made that a bait and switch did indeed happen. I think there were a lot of people like me who purchased the burning crusade with high hopes for the game. That being said, I most certainly won't remotely consider buying the second expansion, and that's what you wow fanbois should be really worried about. Just how many of those supposed nine million players will actually purchase the second expansion. Wow's not going away anytime soon, and that's good because those who like wow's playstyle should be able to play what they want. But you fanbois need to learn that there's a lot more to MMOs then wow.

Make these posts on the f&#king WoW forums! Stop inviting trolls!
EDIT: Flames, rather. Or, stop trolling. >.> I dunno, I'm just nerdgasming over the x-pac.
A large amount of the MMORPG.com user base consists of WoW-haters. Please address the other threads already locked on the forum.

I remember when they promised all this kind of stuff three years ago after release....
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
