If Brad Mcquaid would to join Ncsoft, do you think he would beable to finally get people that know how to create mmo's to make his ideals see the light of day ?

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I personally think he isn't a"Leader" but a good thinker, he needs better people to work with and I think He would probably dominate the genre if he went to NcSoft. Asian market is crtying for a game that is deeper then anything they ever seen ,Ncsoft and Brad could take them there and with Brad and Lord British under the Wing of NcSoft, WoW is finished and Blizzard will Duck and Run back to the RTS Genre .

I mean come on did you play vanguard at all? And I agree with the poster above me who said brad was just in the right place and teh right time. I haven't heard anything visionary or new come out his lips so why are you creating posts like this? Seriously this guy is done. Plus, if you couple Brad with Lord British, you will just rift ncsoft because everyone knows that a creative genius like British would cross lines with a dictator like Brad. Did you read the interview? People said talking to brad wasn't pleasant.
Vanguard was do to not enough people telling him no this engine can't do that. Epic games should been clean about the Engines capability as they are in a Law Suit about the Unreal 3 engine not being as advertised.
There is the fact the people he had working for him , didn't have a clue on how to implement his ideas in a manner that would work with today's technology. I think you will see that Wwih Lineage 3 coming soon , that people who know how to develop games can harness that engines power to create a stunning and yet function environment....

The problem was Brad Mcquaid's extremely poor management skills. There was only 1 QA guy, and developers were not allowed to use the tools they needed, and the result is what Vanguard is today. All the fault is to put on Brad Mcquaid, there is no denying that.

It would be awesome if Mcquaid was hired as the "do it all" guy for mythic.

Um the smart people at NCSoft like General British know his ideals are half-assed and contradictory so; no.
Romero's 3d tool set is the basis for all map editors and 3d modeling application today. His work early on in the Pc Gaming business is unmatched by a lot people and he stands beside people like Warren Spector and Sid Meir as one of the great designers.

If BMQ went to NCSoft, I'd be canceling all of my game accounts there. He had some good concepts for Everquest, but that type of gameplay is no longer a feasible style for most people.

Actually, he uses the moniker "General" British for Tabula Rasa, since it is a military style game. And I agree, NCsoft is just starting to get some flavor, and if Mcquaid was added, that flavor would be bitter.If he couldn't do it with Vanguard, what makes anyone think he can do it in any circumstance?
