Which is better, Warcraft or FarCry? See? - You can't compare those two, simply because both GW and WoW feature different gameplay and since there are already hundreds of topics and posts about that I wouldn't want to start mentioning them. So you are better off reading them or just try those games.
Anyhoo: GW and WoW are 2 very different games (GW isn't even an MMO, technically). The top reason why GW is scoring better is basically because there are no monthly fees to keep playing it. The awesome pvp is coming at a close 2nd though. I myself prefer WoW. Not sure why, but I own both games and I haven't touched GW in over a year.
How about we flame him for posting this on the wrong board? After all, I don't see any rumors in this post.
pinaple vs rum,wich is best???/1//1/1111oneoneone
Add them together and they are both equally good.
Now back on topic, I would go with WoW just because I don't like the style of play in Gw. I'm not into the campaign, I'm into backgrounds. Also I'm not really a make your own armor and weapons yourself kind of guy. add that with the fact that you can only reach up to level 20, it's just not that challenging. In my opinion.
I could rant on, but I have posted in too many GW vs WoW posts to do so.
Is it possible to move this thread to the approprite forum, so everyone stops flamming?
I think there both equal. I like the videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3BbZA1y4yI (WoW vs Runescape) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcWXL8jpFGs (WoW vs Guild Wars) .
WoW is a superior MMO compared to GW, and GW is a superior single player game compared to WoW.
I like your Gutz avatar. Loved the anime up until the point where it ended - stupid ending, because no one wanted to play the game to find out what happens next.
But I have to say WoW simply because I've never seen a game that has better PvP. Take for instance, if you look at the WoW PvP videos and other MMORPGs...you'll know what I'm talking about (try watching a FFXI PvP where they just stand next to each other and dish out damage until someone dies then watch a fast-paced, highly-maneuverable WoW PvP video...and then take a look at which vid has the most views...and THEN).
I do think Guild Wars is a great game for having no monthly charge.
Currently Playing: 3ds Max 2009
Played and Loved: World of Warcraft, EVE Online, Warhammer Online
Best F2P MMO: Requiem Bloodymare
Want to Play: Aion (See Teaser), DCuniverseOnline (awesome gameplay videos)
both of them are equaly good Some things are better in WoW and some things are better in GW
To be honest, people who say they are equal either; never played either or don't like either.
Because it is almost impossible to not dislike WoW/GW if you play GW/WoW
It's strange but true, two totally different styles, opposites.
But yes, Guild Wars is t3h l33t0rz :P
I've played both, and Guild Wars is the only one I've gone back to. I found WoW far too cartoony for my liking.
Not to mention, whats the point of spending 15$ a month to play a game, when there is an extremely good game right there that is free to play every month?
I once quit Final Fantasy online, and about a year later, when I wanted to go back to it, I was surprised to find that I would have to buy the client all over again. Screw that. I'm not sure if that is how WoW is, but I know most MMORPG's are like that. Guild wars, I bought it the day it came out, and I can jump on whenever I want without re-buying or checking my bank account to make sure I have enough money.
I do think Guild Wars is a great game for having no monthly charge.
Yeah it also has players running round with names such as PussyGal, L33tking, upyours, phuckit and others, thats why i stopped playing and just cannot bring myself to go back to it. Hopefully GW2 will have a much better restriction to names, be actually moderated and hopefully have a better gameplay.
Are you kidding? World of Warcraft is so much better than Guild Wars! You can do more things in World of Warcraft and there is more classes as well as more races!
I like that WoW has a sandbox world but you cant really develop your char as much as in GW imo... You can only get new equips and a bigger lvl. While as in GW you can create your own build so that no one will be the same as you. + GW has better pvp imo.
Played both games and you really can't compare the 2 games. Wow is a mmorpg style of game while GW is a CORPG. For pvp GW offers you more and for pve WoW gives you more to do. It really depends on what your style of play is but neither can hold your interest forever hence why I will be playing AOC and some will jump to WAR.
There must be some third side there, cause I hate both of those games and I think they are probably equally bad, and both are part of my personal top3 worst MMORPG's I ever played.
REALITY CHECK

Um, I think guild wars has more classes.
Guild Wars:
These classes can be hybrids also because you can have a primary class and a secondary. ie: Warrrior/Monk, Ele/Assassin
WoW has 8 I believe.
My 2 cents.
First and foremost...how the heck is this a rumor for the rumor room?
Secondly, since it's here I am compelled by the forces of evil to answer this silly question.
Guild Wars was built around exactly that, Guild wars. Team based competition. Your 8 skills, your 7 other team mates with their 8 skills battling the opposing squad made up of 8 players with 8 skills each. The game is F2P after the intitial buy and the pve is large enough to compete in the mmo market regardless of whether or not it is actually an mmo. This game will draw all it's comparisons from these type of games. It's a corpg if I remember correctly.
WoW is a game built around the pve side of things with pvp as an after thought. The world is vast, the graphix are cartooney. This game is basically all grind , lvl chasing, armor with great stats chasing, and item chasing. Guild Wars is more about skill usage, not like a true skill based game but along those lines.
Personally I have no problem with either, except the lvl cap thing being raised in the new xp coming to WoW( of which I will probably not buy if AoC can hold my attention). I play both. I like both. I have played others and liked them too. They are just games, when I feel I am bored with video games I move on to other ones.
It's not life or death for me. The day I take gaming seriously is the day I should check myself into a goddamn clinic to get some help.
have never been a real fan of WOW, but did get right into GW.
