Some closed/open beta games never get featured here in MMORPG.com (yet), some of them you've heard before around the forums: RO 2, Monato Esprit, Florensia, Uncharted Waters Online, Perfect World, and more. As far as I know, here's three games that I've seen no one ever mentioned yet, in any of the forums. Though I'm not sure whether they are accessible to us non-Japanese players, they're worth being brought into the light. If you can read Japanese, it helps a lot:
LaTale (http://www.latale.jp/)Apparently this is an anime-styled 2D scrolling MMO in the veins of MapleStory, Wonderking and Dragon Gem. But as you can see, the quality is WAY higher than MapleStory and it does look more fun. Story-wise, you are an adventurer set to discover to mysteries of the continent you live on, and murder weaker things on the way. Here are the screenies...
http://www.latale.jp/library_ss.aspxThe presentation gives a feel similar to
Ragnarok Battle Offline. For those hunting for a replacement to the above trio, you can look into this.
Emil Chronicle Online, E.C.O (http://www.econline.jp/ and http://www.eco.in.th/)
This 3D MMORPG is an exception; it has a presence in Thailand other than Japan. Walking around in Bangkok, I've not seen any cybercafes with this game yet, strangely. They're filled with Yulgang/Scions of Fate players...
Anyway, this one's on the likes of RO 2 and Monato Esprit. The story is in its fifth episode now, but basically it has to do with angels, demons and everyone in-between. Videos will explain the gameplay better:

The promo and concept artwork are done by Broccoli, the zany makers of Digi Charat. Hence, the whole anime cuteness. Seems like you need GungHo ID to access the Japanese version, but the Thai version...
Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE, aka. Megaten Online (http://www.megatenonline.com/)
From the folks who brought you Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou comes this one and only chance to join in the world of Kazuma Kaneko's occult. You are a Devilbuster in an apocalyptic world, where you employ demons to fight at your side. You can level your demons and combine them to get new and more powerful types.
Basically Devil Summoner Online, if you are familiar with the series. Because "demons" in Megaten series are inclusive of every supernatural and mythological beings ever, this game will practically never run out of companion designs.
This one is not cutesy anime like the other two, though.
The video is on the main site itself. Interested? Here's a guide written in the language we know:

This one seems to be going P2P some time soon, but I'm sure some inspired soul will find a way into the game.
Be adventurous and you might actually find more of these games around! Enjoy.

I live in Japan and have had the opportunity to play both ECO and Megami Tensei. They are both fun games but I have spent most of my time on Megami Tensei. It is really fun! I hope that they localize both of the games so that US users can have an opportunity to try them as well.
