ArchLord: Become the Archlord, Win a Suit of Armor

SzarkSzark News ManagerMember Posts: 4,420

Codemasters has announced that the battle to become Archlord has begun. And if prestige, special powers, and an in-game castle of your very own weren't enough incentive, Codemasters has announced that the first player to be crowned Archlord will receive a life-sized suit of Armour.

ArchLord Suit of Armour Battle Begins

Codemasters Online and ArchLord, the free to play MMO, are pleased to announce that the battle to become the all ruling, all powerful ArchLord has begun! Saturday August 4th saw the first Siege warfare battle take place. It was amazing to see so many guilds in game, taking part in some frantic PvP action. There is still a chance to take part in the weekly siege battles; sign-up and you are ready to go!

This also signifies the start of the hunt to win the Life-sized suit of Armour. Codemasters Online is giving away a life-sized suit of Armour to the very first player to be crowned ArchLord. All you need to do is round up your mates, form a guild and let battle commence. Take part in the weekly sieges every Saturday to win control of your very own castle. Then at the end of every month one player will be able to compete to become the ArchLord, and with it receive special powers, their own castle and their own armour set.

Get ready to compete to become the one, the only, ArchLord!

Only took em a year to implement but finally the game might be worth paying retail for .

The game is ruined in my opinion. I've been playing for the last 6 month and if you don't fall into the chantra trap or use a BOT, its pretty impossible to get anywhere in the game. As an elementalist + sorcerer (both level 55), I've realized its just the same old same. Find an auto loot party, pull 4-5 mobs, slow them down, AoE them, run, slow, AoE etc... there is no fun.

The only time i ever play this game is if I'm tired with EQ2 or WoW. I simply go around killing people (over 230 VPs to date).

I just don't think Archlord will last. Actually, it might, with a small player base of addicted players. A friend of mine has spent over £200 on buying cash and £310 on chantra (in 6 month). For anyone who cant add, thats £510... in 6 month, crazy yeah. But its not just him, its his entire guild. All these top guilds powerlevel, bot, buy gold and are fully kitted out in chantra.

I don't think a suit of armor will keep this game going, i really don't.

    More than a year

"Archlords receive some rather nifty in-game abilities and items as well as a real life item.

In-game the player will receive a flying dragon mount and will also have their own castle. The Archlord’s castle cannot be located on the game map.

Also, the Archlord has 4 NPC guards that surround them at all times. When other players or NPCs try to approach the Archlord, the guards will keep them a safe distance away or will fight if need be.

The Archlord will also have the ability to control the game server which allows them to control different game features such as the weather.

The real life items are rather nifty as well, the very first individual to become Archlord will receive a real life Archlord suit of armor. Any player who reaches Archlord after the first will receive an Archlord helmet and a plaque."

And Codemasters lied about "get your real armor" and "control the server" in PR spam everywhere last year for months - knowing pretty well that none of those features were present even in korean version at that time.

Is this the game where they said a single player could become Archlord if they worked hard enough at it, but the reality was that the mechanics wouldn't let you and it was a lie?

Well u can be Archlord if u spend way to much $ on chantra items, and now that they make the ep 2 release they incremented the price in most used chantra items, Rez orbs Lens stones and sumon orbs .. why dont  know they just though "we made the ep2 a reality so lets charge more for our lauzy service"; the game could be actually nice but maybe codemaster should try runing one game at the time instead of 3, also with this patch they fixed nothing about the previous one just addded the new stuff with their new bugs included i heard they rushed the release coz of  2 moons coming out . . . i rather wait more time and have less bugs, and also need to change the server coz cant hold enough ppl, first siegue wars had much lag.

But basicly what ppl want its old prices back on the chantra items (old chantra items have no new ability just cost the double they used to) and weekly at least mini patchs that would fix some bug each time instead of  waiting maybe another year for some patch that would fix things up.

all these people crying about "paying way too much money for chantra" are idiots..  iv been playing since release and since they went F2P i havent spent a dime on chantra... farm for an hour and you have enough to buy a weeks worth with gold.
