Im not sure about the shipping or even if you have a walmart there (imo walmart is taking over the world but)

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?cat=103102&dept=2636&product_id=2018067&path=0%3A2636%3A103102%3A95337%3A95340

try that link it is rather cheap

hope that helps some...good luck playing it

Do you have to buy the game if you've downloaded the 15 day trial? Can't you just subscribe after your trial period is over and keep playing?

I dunno cause I only played the trial for 10 minutes before remember how much I hated the game and having found a couple more reasons to hate it even more.

I would think you should be able to. Forgot about that unless ofcourse they want the nifty book that comes with it hehe

Unless sony is being stubborn I dont see why you shouldnt just be able to buy it from the trial.

Unfortunately u can't just subscribe from the trail, u need a retail cd-key, and that kinda sucks.

We don't have walmart over here, and they currently dont ship over here :(

Do you have an EB Games or Gamstop near you? they should have it for $30. If not, just keep looking around, I'm sure you can find it online somewhere to buy it and get it shipped to you.

What? They make you buy the game after trying their trial! Those cheap punks! Well at least you'll probably still get the month free when you buy the game, and it's a lot less expensive now then it used to be that's for sure.  But I think the vast majority of the people who downloaded the trial probably won't want to buy the game since they just probably wanted a free game to try for a bit.  But SOE is just being as cheap as always I see. Gives me yet one more reason not to like SOE.

Please tell me why someone who downloads a free trial should be allowed to just subscribe from the trial when the rest of us had to actually purchase the game outright to play.

Cause the game has been out for a while now and it's been steadily losing subscriptions and giving the game away for free is a good way to get more people to subscribe and pay the monthly fees.  A lot of other MMORPGs are doing that now, like DAoC just to name one.  And just so you know, I did buy the game the day after it came out. But personally, i don't think it's worth buying cause it isn't really all that good.

lol, Oracle...you're really grasping for straws this time

Its only a two week free trail. lol, many people whon ever played the game cannot make a deep enough dent in SWG in 2 weeks and if they did, they can redo it when they buy the game and probably in half the time since they now know the ropes.

I wouldnt really call them cheap punks either as there are one of the very very few who do not require a credit card for the free trial

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Make sure you thank me over and over and over again and again for not needing a Credit Card to play SWG. Because...... I was the veteran SWG poster who spearheaded a mass petition on the official SWG forums to not force players to use Credit Cards to play.

Also, SWG at first did require CC in order to play. From launch all the way to Nov 2003. But I kept lighting a fire under them. I even got a few direct replies from the SWG DEVs in the forums, and via email.

As far as I know, (I might be wrong...) Anarchy Online was the first MMORPG to not require CC in order to play. I was not there when UO, AC, and EQ first lanuched so if any vets in those other games care to comment if those games originally allowed players to play without using CC.

AO currently is the only MMORPG that allows players the most choices on how to play.

      - Credit Card

      - Money Order

      - Check

      - Cash! (yep!)

      - and more....

It is up to each game company how they want to market their game.

     1. Anarchy Online originally ONLY had their game available by ONLY downloading it. Later on they sold the box on store shelves too.

     2. EQ right now allows their game to be downloaded and purchased on store shelves.

Neither way is better than the other way if you look at it closely:

      - Buying a game at the store means you waste very little time waiting for it to download. The majority of gamers have a 56k connection. Try downloading EQ right now at it litterally can take 1 to 3 days! AO will take roughly 24 hours. SWG may take 12-16 hours.

(I use the fiberoptic connection at one of my jobs to download stuff, burn the CD, then bring it home heheh. EQ takes me 3-8 hours, AO takes 30 mins - 1hour, SWG takes roughly 1 hour to 3 hours.)

      - Many gamers have a certain amount of bandwidth usage each month. Especially gamers in countries other than America. If they were to DL the game, then try to play they risk not being able to play for 1 month, as well as not being able to do regular surfing.

      - Many gamers would rather not have their computer used up for 8, 12, 16, 24, hours non-stop, unable to use it. Gamers who share their computer with others (family members, friends, roomates) will have an impossible time being able to download a game.

took me 1.5 hours to download SWG on good ole' Adelphia cable.

Just to clarify, you CAN keep your character from your trial, but you do need to buy the game for a valid CD-key.  Pretty much standard practice from what I've seen, with the exception of AO, as noted above.

About the download thing, many people are getting better connection these days. I myself have had a 10mbit/s non caped conection for rougly 5 years now so i would prefer downloading the mmorpg game that i want to play.

xplororor: Anarchy Online had and has had a box since day 1.  They were the first to offer a trial.

Im most downloadable MMORPGs, you must pay for the game after the trial (you are charged X $ at the end of the trial to purchase your key).  Or they do it the EQ way and you can only try with the trilogy and still have several expansions to buy to have the complete game.

As much as I am NOT a fan of SWG, I understand that offering a trial which does not require a credit card, they must be swamped with trial accounts and use the final registration with permanent key to validate the identity of the player.

I know AO released in Europe first. Where I live, in the eastern USA, AO was not available to buy in stores, but was available to buy via downloading it. I still have my AO account after 1 1/2 years, even though I never ever purchased the AO gamebox, or AO CD heheh.

AO US release was 3 years ago and the box was available here.  After the release fiasco, boxes disappeared from most stores,  which is why AO was the first to offer a downloadable version.  But if you check you old credit card receipts,  they charged you 29.95 after the free trial to purchase the key and get 30 day "free".  At the moment they have the best deal, for 9.95 you get you key plus free time till sept 1st.....
