You might of had a bug or the server might of bugged. Did the enemies move at all or just appear to stand still?

I seen bugs in WOW that happen rarely where the guys appear to be standing still but they are acctually attacking you.

Happened just the other day with a group I was with they couldnt see any guys moving but I could they had to log out and back in.

Even saw a warrior who knew how to bug monsters this way and used it to kill lower level players. As if it was a cheat or a mod he was using and knew how to bug the monsters. WTF is with the bots and cheats im a mmorpg game?

Its lag, and it happens a lot. You will notice this pretty often when fighting rogues in pvp.

There are also very occasional bugged mobs, which move and hit you without the graphics being updated. They also seem to be unkillable.

Best to avoid these and pick another target. They will disappear next time the server is reset.

This is a Known issue since Beta...it is not limited to any server or whatever. No pooint in arguing something that is nearly impossible to fix at this time in this MMO.

the fact is that what your client displays and what it is actually going on are not the same thing. the client will always be a step forward than the server and as such, while you see those guys a few meters away, the server see them right on top of you, it is so to avoid excessive lag and loss of game functionality.

to make a test ask a friend to just run next to you. when he is next to you on his computer, he will be a few steps behind on yours and other way around.

WoW is the smoothest MMO I have played, I dont warp like I did in Guildwars and EQ2, and other players run around the world as I would expect (unless im on 56k) unlike other games where they seems to be floating or animation is out of sync.

Sounds like a bugged mob to me, you'll run into those now and again. The type of mob you attack but he doesnt move or his Health bar goes down, the next thing you know an invisable mob is beating on you.  As a hunter its no problem as my pet can see him so pet takes aggro and I can attack him, they do die.

Guildwars runs beautifull for me. Especially now. They have updated that game many times over the 2 years it's been online.

A lot of the smoothness on your own character's lies with the fact that they trust the client (overly much) for the movement.  The result is that you won't rubberband even when the network is laggy, but it can lead to things like you getting hurt when you're not near a mob since the server may be lagging and not realize you left your previous location.  It's also the reason for the numerous exploits over the years that allowed speed and teleport hacks.

As for other characters, I do find that their client prediction is a lot smoother than many other MMOs and I see a lot less warping on other characters... though I have seen them zip around at high speed as the server catches up.

Sounds like server side lag issue to me...it happens every so often, and is of course annoying as hell.

Best bet is to logout completely to desktop and then come back into the game and the world and see if that does not solve it, with a new connection.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.
