Here the hate runs so deep that the dissenters have completely drowned out actual players of the game,
Have you noticed how the internet polarises all human actions in to love and hate of subject (there a scene in the Donnie Darko flm similar to this). It seems people cannot have a wide degree of views on the internet and have to go into these two discrete boxes. My own viewpoint from my perspective (if not skewed by the recursiveness of that statement) is that I am have a : flippant hostile attitude to VG which is an example of a greater pet peeve of mine ( unpolished software). But HATE... you know thats a real strong word. Personally I think people choose hate / love as there such shore words and most cannot be assed typing...
As for the offical problems I will concede there not great either but this is Sigils / SOE / and the communities fault. The RP server merge is a good example. I got to say I found the offical forums much worse than these because you'd expect SOE to limit access by now and people to use this forum. (though if I am honest its out here that VG has to get good TRUE infor cause its needs it.. )
Sorry to say but the state of this forum is a reflection on the hype versus the real state of VG. But in the end if you like a game like it.. ok by my standards though expect a few flippant statements from me.
If they did separate the fanbois from everyone else, does that mean you would promise to never go to the other forum and argue with negative opinions? You would stay exclusively in your safe "gated" forum and not read the other one? Just curious.
For me, I never reads the "hate SOE" stickied threads (except the one in PotBS before it got stickied as one) and only by negligence reads/posts in the veteran forum at SWG.
So atleast I would manage fine without reading a flame forum at VG to.
But splitting a forum based on flaming and trolling is on the other hand. Disagreing, arguing and different opinion is not flaming, pointing fingers or whatever.
Forgive my flippant answer but its suits... welcome to human nature! If this seems miserable think how boring a forum be with no division on any issue. VG is divided yeah.. but thats the way it is and the way it wil be for some time.
Of course this is another polarised (love/hate ) view I think there plenty of middle ground here and often exchange of views. And these forums are not as badon the whole as WoW forums in general so hey look on the bright side ... could be worse
But splitting a forum based on flaming and trolling is on the other hand. Disagreing, arguing and different opinion is not flaming, pointing fingers or whatever.
The problem is, for most of this game's history, anyone who disagreed, or offered a different opinion was given the label "hater" just for not following the party line. It didn't matter how that opinion was presented. If they criticized Vanguard in ANY capacity at all, they were automatically a hater, a troll, or someone who was too stupid/lazy/immature/etc. to understand a game as "deep" as Vanguard.
When that kind of polarization happens, and when fans of a game circle the wagons and insist that criticism, no matter how constructive, is the same as flaming, as many VG supporters did, then the very definition of flaming gets muddled.

The words "Go back to WoW!" come to mind. Hehe, you rarely see the VG supporters spout that anymore, probably because so many took their advice they were left with an empty game world.

"Go back to WoW!" will resurface, not in VG though...

Hater/Vanboy same same mostly dependent on which situation it is written in that defines it to be an insult or not.
The fanboyism before the release is that not the same in the 2 upcoming games. Anyway removing the flaming will make the just critiscism to be more receptive(?). Now all becomes just some blurry static. But that's nothing to do I guess.

The words "Go back to WoW!" come to mind. (so how long do current players have to deal with your wrath for someone saying this to you back in beta? when will our debt for someone elses crimes be paid?) Hehe, you rarely see the VG supporters spout that anymore, probably because so many took their advice they were left with an empty game world.
Ok, this is an argument that has come up ever so often. "Vanbois created the situation, you reap what you sow"
Well, what if I wasn't one of the Vanbois? What if I see the probs with Vanguard and want to discuss them from a players standpoint, without wading thru the same tired arguments over and over? Why should VG players have to tolerate the hateful tone of this forum simply because Vanbois started the fight? This thread for instance, is filled with blanket insults toward all VG players, every argument against it has been said in this thread and sometimes the arguments have repeated. What cosmic justice has been found that because of Vanbois, VG players must pay a blood debt? When will that debt be paid? If it is until the game is stable, who gets to decide when its stable enough to stop this nonsense?
And finally, even if Vanbois started it, why is it mature and constructive for haters to continue it? The Vanbois have been mostly shut down. The blind lovers of this game are growing fewer and farther between because of the enormous egg on their face, yet it seems the hate has not only become the norm, but their boldness and feeling of self-satisfaction that what they are doing is 'right and good' seems to be increasing. At some point, it ceases to be the Vanbois fault and the blame rests squarely in the haters hands.
P.S. BTW there are still some who disagree that the blame can be placed solely in the hands of Vanbois, looking back to thru the history of this forum you will see that they baited each other from the beginning. The wise see that it takes two to tango, extremes on both sides began this problem, imo, and that's all it is, my opinion. Just like the 'fact' that Vanbois started it is your 'opinion'. Stop using the child's argument of 'you started it' and replace it with the adults argument 'i will end it'. If you want to prove that the 'haters' are truly more righteous, more heroic and more responsible mmo players, stop posting in such a way that it drowns out people who actually play this game.
Analyze why Die_Scream wrote what he did. Did he think that no one had ever heard the 'someone said go back to WoW, so this is what they get' argument before? Did he think current VG players would read this for the millionth time and say, 'y'know he's right, months ago there were a lot of posts like that, I should stop playing Vanguard because of there used to be people like that'. Was he so personally hurt by statement like 'go back to WoW' that he feels justified in reminding people about it in every single thread on the VG forums? Or did he purposefully write it in the VG forums, because he wants to get under people's skin? I just don't think that there is anything constructive about those arguments being re-hashed, and I think the posters know that it isn't constructive, and in that since, Vanbois have nothing to do with the state this forum is currently in. They may have been a problem in the past, but the haters outnumbered, squashed them and their folly was exposed, to wit, it was then rubbed in their faces with 'i told you so' and is continuing to this day, it is ludicrous to say that these forums deserve this type of childish behavior. You won. Leave us alone now. Freakin bad sportsmanship imo.
Let's turn the tables here shall we? If Vanguard had been a huge hit then the Vanbois would be the ones screaming at the top of their lungs. And rightfully so...their "Vision" would have been fulfilled and the Church of Brad would have had their "mandate" if you will.
All your seeing here is just like a shark attack...you ask when is it enough. In a shark frenzy it's not enough until the pieces that fall to the ocean floor are too small for the sharks to eat and the blood has dissipated.
I'm one shark that has gotten fairly bored of saying "I told you so" though. Unless it's a particularly juicy morsel that makes me squirm with anticipation. Such as SOE keeping this game on life support. And Vanbois falling from the fold.
However, my optimistic side says let this be a lesson to all burgeoning talent. If you build it, they will come. However, you had best deliver on your promises when you do build it. Otherwise your fans AND your haters will be tearing down the bleachers, rushing the field and beating your players down with foam fingers.
P.S. I'm one of those embittered "Go back to WoW" players. I went back to WoW and having a blast. I wouldn't touch Vanguard even if SOE sent me to their little cheerleader camp called a "Summit", payed for a years subscription, bought me a new computer to play it on AND provided me a T3 connection. There's just some things I won't do.
Never be afraid of choices. More choices are always good things.

The reason why there is so much disgust here and in other Vanguard forums is simple. Vanguard sucked so bad for the majority of people who EXPERIENCED it. The amount of hype and bullshit sprouted by the devs (still going on) AND the vanbois has turned Vanguard into the ENRON of the MMORPG world.
Don't think anything else can be said.
I love how smuggly both these were written. Unfortunately, if you had understood that the original complaint was against hearing the same arguments over and over again, then you would have realized that trying to have the last word with a rehashed argument we've heard a billion times (not only on the forum, but several times within this thread), just reinforces my initial premise, this forum is overrun by posts like this drowning out the actual players. What was especially nice was that you added an insult blanket statement to the entire VG community.
Thank you for proving my point.
Firstly, you are welcome
Secondly, I also love how smugly you try to hide the simple point you are trying to make in layers of arguments. At the end of the day, it boils down to you not wanting to see "rehash arguments" from the "haters". Unfortunately, the same could be said of Vanbois. Let's see:
Go Back to WoW (or insert other game's name here).
If you have quit, why are you still here?
Split the forums. Keep the "haters" away.
Go hang out in some other forums where you play the game.
It is the same point over and over again lol. I am not saying you made all those statements. In the same spirit that you generalize 'haters making the same re-hashed arguments', I could also generalize vanbois making the same re-hashed arguments that amount to ... nothing except for passing some time engaging in entertaining but frivolous debate.
Thirdly, look at yourself in the mirror. You hate the 'haters'. That makes you ... a hater too? lol. Since you are making the same point as previous vanbois has already made, so that makes u a 'hater rehashing the same old tired arguments'?
Then again, you know what, I might be wrong and you will get your forum ... in 3 weeks time

I agree there is rehashing on both sides of the argument, but I have to ask you Zooom what does it acomplish to go into a thread where someone is asking for help within the game and most of the response are from the "haters" degrading content most are no longer familiar with?
Just cursious for your view to this.
A MMO is like life. It is something to cherish and enjoy upon in it journey. So why race to the end of it. In life at the end you die.

I make a distinct saparation between "Vanbois" and "Active Players". Not every player who plays is a "Vanboi". I respect active players. It is their choice to like and play the game. When I see a thread from an Active Player that genuinely is asking for assistance e.g. "How do i get from point A to point B?" or "How do I do X?", I stay out of those - out of respect for those players.
Vanbois on the other hand comes into the forum sprouting "Vanguard is the best game ever", "There is no performance problem as far as I can see", "It's their system's fault", "Go Back to WoW" i.e. broad sweeping statements intended to exegerate plus points and tries to sweep negative points under the carpet, then I believe its fair game.
