Hey I just am using the free trial and so far ive tried a warlock, a warrior, and then a hunter. Each of them have been extremely boring, I mean most the time is spent watching my character and not doing anything except tapping a few buttons on my keyboard. So before I waste time starting a new character I need some help, I want something with some actual interactivity; so it doesnt feel like im watching a movie instead of playing a game. So can anyone help me out, anything info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry pal, they're all like that (Reason #3 why I quit WoW).
Maybe you can tell us what kind of combat do you enjoy? Isit meele class or caster? My main is a warrior and i enjoy it very much. I love to rush into the thick of battle and hack and slash away. During solo, ive to read the sittuation and pull carefully, because war only have a fear that is on 3min cool down. Also im lvling a mage now and also enjoy it. Like the options that i can try out in dealing damage.
Have tried a warlock and hunter which i dont like the idea of standing behind a pet.
And maybe you could lvl up higher to about 20 to really have a feel about each class. You will have talents to put into the tree to enhance your toon. But ultimately all of them is button smashing. Depending how you see it. Hope this helps...

If you look at other MMO's on the market, they have the same if not worse interactivity then WoW as far as skills are concerned. Sounds to me your just not interested in the game world. Try reading a few of those quests descriptions, slow down abit and take in the sights.
Alternatively, I found Warriors, Mages and Rogues quite fun as far as interactivity is concerned. They can be quite fast n' furious.
If your still not having fun, maybe WoW's not your cup of tea.

Did you get to lvl 10 with your hunter you get to tame pets then and it starts to get interesting, as too other classes only hunter every got my attention.
I have played all the classes and the only 1 i felt you were always busy with was a priest as you are always kept on your toes,With other classes it was very possible to go afk in a fight with auto attack on or even if you werent afk just mash the same 3 keys.As someone else has posted maybe best you lvl to around 20 as you would have been in a few groups by then and also your 1st instance.Another thing is though with a holy priest is a heavy grind and you dont really feel the benefit till you are a higher lvl and in alot of groups.Just my thoughts and experenice in the game.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Right.. I disagree, the only really boring classes are hunter and paladin in my opinion. With every other class you can actually play with a build that requires interaction.
I suggest you atleast play a class to level 10 no matter how boring it feels as that's when it gets interesting
Warlocks get a bigger meaner demon
Warriors a new stance
Hunters get their pet, which is a major thing and actually quite a minigame in itself
Druids get their first shapeshift form (bear)
and so on
You also start earning talentpoints at that level
((And it sounds like you want a Rogue speaking of which, that's the most intense and demanding class in solo-PvE as far as I know))
Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
It all sucked.
All classes are easy to play at low level.
However if you want more of a challenge then - get to higher level, group with other people, and try to not only get by with being a merely average member of your class, but excel at it.
Some classes also play very differently in pvp. Perhaps that will give you a challenge (although avoid the 10-19 and 20-29 BGs - too many twinks there).
There are also some builds that are a little more repetitive - for example combat rogues and fire mages may use a smaller number of skills than other talent builds. The worst example is holy paladins - for a class that is primarily used as a healer at high level they have remarkably few healing skills.
Someone mentioned hunters are easy to play. They aren't. Not in an instance at high level where you have to worry about chain trapping, shot rotations, protecting the healer, kiting, using misdirection to build aggro on the tank, keeping their pet alive, making sure their pet doesn't pull any adds and managing their own aggro. Most hunters fail - perhaps you think they are easy to play because you have never seen a good one.
Different classes also present different sorts of challenge - for example rogues may require fast reflexes to maintain a stunlock, warriors require a great deal of tactical awareness to tank well, whilst shamen and warlocks have to manage a vast range of skills and pick the right one in the right situation.

I have found that Paladin is pretty interesting. I have a Shadow Priest (70) and a Rogue (62). Both of those classes can thrive with very limited button mashing. Paladins use a large variety of spells and skills which made them a bit more unique. At 40ish you can respec a protection build and AoE grind 6 or 7 mobs at a time. This was very fun for me until about 53. At that point I switched to retribution and had a fairly fun time with the stun combos. Timing is more important to Paladins in this regard.
Doktar - 70 Troll Priest - Perenolde
Rogues are probably the least button-mashing class, as you can't simply spam the same skills over and over again, but you have to watch your Energy, use openers from stealth, combo moves, finishers and so on...
Apart from that, go Druid. You got Warrior, Rogue and Priest all in one
mage= KABOOOM!!!!!! cant ever go wrong with that
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
The OP wanted a class with that wasn't one dimensional and involved using a fair number of skills. Can you honestly say that for PvE, a mage fits that description?

You cant really expect anything before some mid level...wow is not throwing all at you in start but in time. Good and skilled players choose class not by "how boring" or "how cool they look" or "how much buttons do i need to press" but by fact what suits player best.
In my opinion hardest class is warrior...you need to learn how to act in what situation, you have to be fast and concentraded cause if some mob start to chew on your healer you are history

All the classes are interesting in their own way, if you have already written off 3 of them then you either haven't given it a chance or this, and many others the wrong types of MMO for you.
This is so much true. Just press a few buttons and a random mechanism will give a result. And don't believe those wow vanbois that say its like in every other MMORPG, cause its not.
REALITY CHECK
I've not looked into the free trial, but I'm sure you can not level very high. The thing with WoW is that the higher you go, the more abilities your character will gain. With the trial i imagine you wont get to see what your class is all about. I say level to 20-30 if you buy the game, then you can have a proper feel of the class.
The classes are very fun in my opinion. Talent trees can customize your character even more. For example, a priest. You may think starting with a mace, a heal and whatever else you start with is boring. But once you reach 40, welcome to the shadow priest. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up on the class from what you've experienced in the free trial, warlocks are a very fun class, imo.
As for something that doesn't feel like your watching a movie, try a rogue. I think its around level 14 when you start to see what the rogue is all about. There is no sending the pet it and just shooting arrows or DoTs, you've gotta sneak up behind your target, backstab them, stun them, tickle them and then rape them. I think that may be the class for you.
Goodluck to you anyway buddy.

WAR is coming, are you prepared?
-----------------------------------------
That is world of warcraft for ya though. Warlock is probly the most exciting character in the game.
P.S. if anyone wants to trade a 48 hunter for a class of equivalent level let me know.
Ask anyone.
It's undeniable.
If you want the most interaction out of a class. Pick rogue.
Also, how high are you getting your characters? If you only got them to level 10 with no help from a friend then of course it's going to be boring. most classes don't come into their own until at least 20, and then all of their real helpful abilities don't open up until 30.
But no, rogue man. Some will call it just button clicking but if you play him right, the choices you make in the fractions of seconds can turn tides of battles. I had a 47 rogue. I went combat and became a second emergency tank, party wipe saver, extra dps, and crowd control.
Also you can gank. XD
Thats all about how you play your character.
If your a hunter for example you can send your pet in click auto attack and do nothing more. However you could send your pet in - serpent sting - auto shot- charge in and plant a explosive or immolate trap - raptor stirke- wing clip ect. Combined with your pet abilities bite claw ect you can have just as much interaction as any other class. Or you can even play a hunter without a pet and do just as well using freeze trap and keeping your distance while attacking with your bow or gun.
I think all classes are like this you simply have to experiment.
BTW Some people here are saying WOW is all just button clicking they need to take a step back and realise that they are on a computer! WAKE UP PEOPLE. As far as I know they havent perfected the telepathic keyboard.
You really cant tell anything about any class you are playing untill you reach some level. In my opinion warriors are defo hardest class to play. Very gear dependant, on every level you first run to AH to check is there something new you can buy for your level, you allways have to have some potions and food in your bag, you need bigest bags possible to store all those things etc...
Playing some character up to level 5 or 10...you cant really know what is that class all about. Hunter can get pets after lvl 10 and after doing chain quest. I allso really dont like players who have 10 alts all lvl 30 or 40 whining over and over how game is "boring" n stuff. I never played alts, i play my warrior since day one and leveling and gearing up character is neverending story.
For me .... game really starts at lvl 70. There is allways something to learn or see...
