Going to return (afther 2 years :D ) but those "heroes" = Guild (solo)wars ?

HaradeasHaradeas Member UncommonPosts: 252

I played Guildwars since the beta ( long ago before the addons came out ) and I want to buy the addons and start playing again. I love the grafics and gameplay. ( only that you cant jump is kinda lame :P , I know the technical explanation ;) )

Only the thing that you can add NPC heroes to your team, I am affraid it causes to much solo play :S ( just you and 5 heroes *sigh )

I loved doing quests with nice players and chatting while we killed mobs )

Is my vision wrong ? If so, plz say why?

Thx for ya time

well you can only have 3 heroes in a party... well more like each play in your party can choose 3. And i rarely ever solo in the game. there are lots of people to play with during the day.

To solo effectively you need to have good idea how hero AI work, bunch of skill unlocked and decend understanding of other professions. It's option for these who have these and I bet there will be lot of groups forming at GW:EN after launch, because exploring something new is more fun with friends.

You don't need to beat prophecies to campaign to do GW:EN stuff...you don't even need to own the prophecies campaign to access GW:EN. You just have to own one of the three current campaigns and you are good.

As for the OP, yes heroes definitely killed many aspects of the game. All missions in Guild Wars can be done with 3 heroes in your party and 4 henchies, on normal mode. However, you do need to be a decent player with some understanding of which skills suck and which ones are good, and you also need to have quite a few skills unlocked for other profs so your heroes can use them. Personally for me, I find that most of the time I do better with heroes/henchies then actual players.

And thats what I am really affraid of :S

GW is / was a teamgame ( real life players that is ) and if I take your word, you can now choose between a group of newbs, noobs, lamers, afk's or heroes with henchmen

Age of conan is delayed to 2008 >< so I wanted to buy both addons now... now I am not more so sure about that *sigh

Why?  heroes added an extra option that wasn't available before?  more options = good in a casual game

Heroes can't replace real players, mate. If possible, get players instead of Heroes. If you end up with a real Guild Wars pro, the mission (game) is as good as completed.

If you end up with a PRO it may be aswell as completed but most of the times i think NOT . :D cause still 1 pro and a newbie doesn't make a so called "good party" ;) but yes you may call the MR. that drops Greenies *drools* As good as Dead ! :D

The only fault of heroes is that they're better than most players - which is really, really sad.

Only in combat or healing :) I would still prefer a player monk to a healer hench cause i think that any player should have enough logical thinking to not run into an unwinnable fight and die first, leaving the party in a very bad situation. The one thing I dislike is that heroes are somewhat taking away the need for teamwork and cooperation. That is kinda sad. But luckily, if you are in an active guild you can round up some cool guildmates and dominate any mission
