It says something vague about beta access. Can anyone confirm or deny that this pre-order gives access to the current beta?

I can confirm that the pre-order does not give you immediate access to beta.
You will get beta access at some future date, yet to be made public.
This source says that it does... R.G.'s comments about it seem to indicate the same. But the wording on the actual pre-order is very fuzzy indeed...

GameSpot says: "NCsoft announces an online deal available starting tomorrow; will give gamers beta access at the time of purchase and a three-day head start on the game's official launch."
Can you elaborate on not getting into beta with purchase? did you pre-order online? Was is US or other version? etc...

The pre order currently gives access to the beta boards but not the game.
As I understand it, an email is also sent to the pre-oreder participant saying that they will gain access to the game at some point in the future. While I do not have first hand knowledge (I have not pre-ordered) this is being reported the same way by multiple people on the beta boards.
thanks for letting me know, i was about to pre-order. and it is being reported as "instant beta access" by multiple online gaming sites. someone has something mixed up. i don't even know where to look for official info with there being no official forums.

Have you seen it in stores yet. I'm hunting this damn thing because my store is notorious for A: not receiving pre-order bonuses B: Keeping them for themselves and C: Throwing them out. So I want to jump on their backs ASAP -_-

Here is what they sent me when i preordered off the NCSoft store($4 US). Looks like there is no instant access but there will be eventual access:

As a pre-order Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa customer, you are eligible for exclusive in-game content and Beta Test access.

Additionally your account will be given exclusive in-game items for the full version of the game, as well as a three-day head start on the live Tabula Rasa servers. You will be able to use the Shell Bot and Pine-Ock pets for your characters (one pet per character) as well as two exclusive emotes.

Well, Today I just got the pre order thing and on PlayNC it gave me a choice to "Download Client" so I am now and its at 43% done.
As of now if you are a fan of this game, you should really go get a pre-order.
i pre-ordered from the NCStore yesterday, DLed the client today and got in to play no problem. I am not subscribed to file planet or anything else. I did not receive any addtional emai.

Question: I pre-ordered from EB-Games in May. Does it apply to that too or am I just SOL?

EB games and the like are SUPPOSED to get a pre-order box containing a cd with some artwork and random videos and crap on it, along with your beta key and whatever it is you need for those ingame emotes and such. The fun part however is actually getting said box, because they never tell you when they come in because they dont care, you already put you're money down, and some places just say "screw it" and huck the boxes.

Yes, you do get automatic beta access when preordering TR from the NCSoft site.
When you preorder TR from the NCSoft site it will automatically give you a key. All you have to do is activate the key to create an account, download and install the client, and then login to start playing the beta.
I did this last night and was able to login to the US server, so I know it works.

I pre-ordered at 12th of August. They gave me a pre-order key which allowed me to login and beta test the game.
Today the sent me an adittional key which was for the beta itself.
I pre-ordered the game at plaync.com 15 minutes ago, and I immediately had the option to "Download Client" through the plaync site.
EB games and the like are SUPPOSED to get a pre-order box containing a cd with some artwork and random videos and crap on it, along with your beta key and whatever it is you need for those ingame emotes and such. The fun part however is actually getting said box, because they never tell you when they come in because they dont care, you already put you're money down, and some places just say "screw it" and huck the boxes.
I used to work part-time for EB Games, and I can tell you honestly that if they didn't get the pre-order stuff, it's because they are keeping it for themselves. I didn't do it, I just watched them take *everything* and sell what they didn't want on Ebay lol. I worked for a lot of the stores in the area and they ALL do it, so trust me, stay away from EB/Gamestop for your own good.
