Have they gotten rid of the "click my mouse button over and over again like a tool" style of combat?

If so I would really like to get back into the game.  If they are still asking me to hit the button with swing (morons) then I'll pass.

You never had to repeatedly click your mouse, just had to hold the button down.

Anyway, you can remap your keys.

    Mouse movement and targeting

Once you clear all bindings for the mouse in your keymap options you go into the character tab and rebind how you want your character to move.

You can choose to have him/her move towards the cursor direction, just move forward with the right mouse button or whatever.

About targeting, this was posted by a player in the SOE forums and it's helped me quite a bit:

    Open the Options Menu

Click the Controls button, scroll to the bottom of the list and uncheck Offset Camera .

Click Keymap and then the Target tab.

Set Toggle Auto-Aim to a key command of your choice.

Set Toggle Repeat Auto-Attack to a key command of your choice.

    Go to the UI tab.

Change Select Target and Summon Radial Menu to the right mouse button.

Personally, my right mouse button is set to the way it was at launch but you can do it however you want.

At the bottom of the Keymap window, check Actions can be fired from the toolbar.

    Click Done.

Now, press the key combo that you assigned to turn on Auto-Aim. You will only need to do this once and it stays on until you turn it off. Logging out does not turn it off.

By default, if nothing is targeted, (green brackets means it's targeted) clicking it will target and double clicking will start auto attack. You'll only need to use the key combo you assigned in step three if there's something in the way of what you're wanting to start auto-attacking so you can't double click it.

Thanks for this information...I actually am patching my SWG client to check the game out again.  SWG is easily my favorite MMO, played from beta until the big changes which is when I Iost interest.  Would be great to see the old character again...drive around in my AV-21 and see the sights.  If I can get the game to play like it used to play I will be very happy.
