There's a free trial you can get. You can download the client and play for 10 free days I think. Also the first 3 expansions are free so if you decide to pick the game up you can download most of the expansions.
The monthly fee is the same as every other mmo. It costs as much as wow does.
If you want more detailed info on DAoC just go to www.camelotherald.com and read all the stuff they have there. It's where you'll find the free trial and all the free expansions you can download.

It is $14.95 a month if you do one month at a time. It reduces if you buy multiple months at a time. It is a 14 day trial and, unfortunatly, it is very confusing. But by the time you have everything downloaded and installed it will include the original game and 3 expansions. The last 2 expansions you will not have access to, but those are for levels 30+ anyway.
