Fury is hot (literally)

I have a decent rig, 3.0 GHz Processor, 7800 GTX 256MB, 2GB RAM. And when I was running the Fury beta it kept restarting my computer. Out of curiosity I checked my CPU temperature and during regular game-play it was peaking at 80 degrees Celsius.... that ridiculously hot. I was averaging probably 25-30 fps which isn't terrible but I have never seen a game heat up my computer like this before!!!

I wont deny that the irony of your name amused me.

That said, I had a quick word with one of the tech guys about it: Cutting down on any background apps that might be taking up CPU power will probably help. Aside from that, check that your fans are working correctly, and you have decent circulation through your case. Making sure all of your drivers are up to date never hurts too.

    Hope that helps!

You know its more than that, the game just needs to be optimized more.

No doubt there! We are constantly working on improving the optimization of the game.

Just an add on to what Dan said, drivers do in fact make your system run hotter or cooler. On a certain driver set I had been using with my very old 6600GT, the thing was running 5d Celsius hotter. I know its hard to believe, but the driver must have been coded badly or something, because right after I installed another more new driver, the temperatures shot down to normal, and I changed nothing in the computers environment. =)

My case has very poor airflow, this is something i have been constantly dealing with since I built it, but even in a 100 degrees (F) room running multiple instances of other games I hadn't peaked like this. As a point of reference it idles at approximately 50 degrees celsius. It's a hot CPU combined with a poorly designed case.  I understand the optimization going on during the beta phases (lol I was in VG beta, that was fun).  This wasn't meant to be a rip on the game being very hardware intensive as my friend was running an old box with an FX 5200 that has broken fan blades and had "no problems".

I could try cutting down on extra programs, I probably had winamp, AIM, ventrillo among other small programs running in the background. I noticed minimal difference in temperature running it on highest/lowest settings in a window or fullscreen.
