Hey Guys... Im Bored!
I need a "in the meantime" MMO to play for the next say 6 months till WAR arrives on my doorstep.
Please dont Say WoW! I managed to escape the grinding and I want a PvP game to play.
I tried DAoC and to my sadness liked it, but the Euro English servers are pretty much empty and I find myself getting kicked out of the game every 20 mins for lost connections. If i can possible solve that inthe next 10 days I guess ill stay for a little.
But in case not... where should i look for some good PvP fantasy action, I love the char advancement in games like DAoC and WoW etc, so would like to stick to that.
Please Help!

What about PS3 or 360 titles? Lots of stuff to play there if your not bound to playing a MMO. There are plenty of free MMOG's to dabble with to.
I went out (whoa!) and bought Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's package the other day, and it's a BLAST! Feels good to finally have something to do while waiting for Warhammer Online. Guitar Hero is addictive, fun and also a nice way to socialize. Have some buddies come over, grab a beer and just shred. Hehe.
Consider playing on the US Classic Servers if you want to really have fun in DAOC. Many Euro guilds moved over to them (for stability/player base issues) and you'll find plenty of people to game with.
If you must stay in fantasy realm I suppose you could try EQ 2 PVP servers... not a great experience, but it is PVP.
If you want to step out of the box, give EVE a try... PVP in 0.0 is excellent however EVE isn't an easy game to learn/master.

Only problem is that he won't do much more then level his learning skills in six months. One of the biggest flaws of eve imo. Great game later on, but crap for newbies.
Someone mentioned guild wars above, and I'd say that might be a really good option for the op. I tried it, and found it to be a good game. I just didn't stick with it due to other commitments. But it should be entertaining for six months if it's a style the OP likes.
And if you've never tried diablo 2, give it a shot online (closed realms, not open). It may not be a full fledged MMO, but it is persistent and has imo by far the very best loot distribution method ever created. Plus, it's old and cheap. You can buy the original plus the expansion for under $30, maybe even less.
Playing the Us Classic Server Joined a US Guild, but hey they are all starting to come online in the mid afternoon for me, so I get to play with them
I think ill be playing pirates of the burning sea when thats released... lets just hope its not pushed back
Ill stay on wow till future notice

Would you like some cheese with that whine?
Forget MMO's until War by filling your time wit Madden '08 I mean that alone could bide you time till WAR hits the shelves
Kill yourself and roll a Rogue, We'll wait!
Guild Wars. Nice PvP system (if you like designing specs) pretty different from WoW in the PvP aspect, but still a good PvP game. I'm playing it and enjoying it. I think I could dig up some buddy keys if you want to test. Send me a PM or something.
Enjoy the sunshine and outdoors.
You won't be seeing much of them after the release
"what should I do...."

What's a better way to spend time waiting for a game than waiting for another game?
I reccomend this one: http://www.tcos.com/
Lots of nice pictures and a neat community makes for some good waiting. But I guess if you actually need something to do, I reccomend picking up a hobby like getting into the Warhammer table top game if you don't already play it. It's kind of expensive, but it's pretty cool. None of the MMORPGs out right now are really worth it...
Just go on a bender, drink yourself stupid, and spend the next six months alienating all your friends. That way, once WAR is released, you'll have no social life so you'll be able to commit every spare moment you have to the game. That's kind of like PvP, I think. Just don't drink away your subscription money.
i am pretty sure alot of people waiting on war are going to play potbs, i know i amit isnt released yet, but it is supposed to be coming out this fall, and guild wars is good for PvP, if you are looking for pve, I would say go with lotro though that probably isnt the fantasy pvp you are looking for.
Though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.

Well, I am floating from MMOG to MMOG, trying to stay occupied. The problem is that no MMOG can satisfy me now because I have been stoked about WAR for nearly two years, and keep getting more stoked with every bit of new information - playing other things seems like a waste. EQ2 and WoW have kept me the most occupied, but they have no staying power.
Secretly, I am holding out hope that I might get lucky and get into the closed beta still, in a later wave, but that hope is minimal. It is me against nearly 400,000 others, and the number is growing, and until they start stress testing and seeing how things will work with in more of a real environment, which typically comes very late and does not last too long, they will probably not need many.
Still, I have to cling to something.
Fortunately, pre-ordering will likely give automatic access to some stage of the beta, albeit a very late one. Better than nothing, I suppose.
I got a nice original idea... why don't you "gasp" read some books, some Anne McCaffrey, Robin Hobbs, Michael Moorcock, H.P. Lovecraft, etc etc etc, so many books, so little time...
I plan on watching the entire series of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and the few Rifftrax movies I have for the time being.
