Looking good but i just hope it don't turn out like Oblivion or FEAR which got fantastic reviews but i thought were complete crap.

I agreed with the reviews for both Oblivion and FEAR.

    I loved both of them.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Problem i had with Oblivion is it was all Grass and trees and no diversity in the land, i also didn't see the need for a level system if everything scaled to your level and i completed the main story in 5 hours on like level 2 or 3. Made me think "HMM arn't storylines in RPG's meant to be about 40 hours cause games like FF7 or KOTOR took me MUCH longer.

Also with FEAR it just got boring fighting in the same coridoor against the same enemy thoughtout the whole game.

Anyways off topic abit here :)

  • I really hope this one is good, I've been waiting a long time for it.

I really hope this gets the sales it deserves...

I hope they can diverge some of the 3 million Halo 3 sales onto this gem... Much more deserving of peoples time and money than Halo IMHO

  • I know you can approach alot of challenges in different ways in this game. Are there supposed to be different endings, or even branching paths for different choices in the game?

just watched the videos and it just looks like any of the hundreds of other shooters out there.

If it had multiplayer I would be in total agreement with you.

Not that a game can't be worthwhile if it's single player only...but a FPS?  It better be one friggen LONG story to tell...and it's weird too, because this game looks like it has sooo much potential in the multiplayer arena...can you imagine setting your friends on fire and hitting them in the face with pipe wrenches?

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

.... It doesn;'t have multiplayer ? .... thats really crappy...

Wait.. i think I knew that already.....

My opinion differs though.. I dont think this would be that great of a multiplayer game in any case...

I'm just frickin excited to play through this game's campaign...

  • Really, no multiplayer? That's really odd. Maybe because it's more of a hybrid rpg-ish type game, like that Vampire: Bloodlines game.

Wasn't there a game a few years ago that had no multiplayer, and the fans wanted it so badly that the developers patched it a few months after release and added it somehow?

You don't think setting pieces of the level on fire and electrocuting your friends as they walk through puddles of water sounds fun?

Hell I can do that without a videogame.

Oh hell yeah it sounds fun... but I can imagine the crappy balancing now...

To me Bioshock is a game where you are constantly thinking about what your are doing and how to do it best.. its one I would play very cautiously. And to speed the game up... make it much more twitch based would just destroy the feel of Bioshock IMHO...

I dont know... I could be wrong and just be trying to console myself that since it wont have multiplayer it would have been bad anyways or something...

I'm told that if you simply rushed through the game, ignoring just about everything interesting, it'll take you like 15 hours to complete. Any real gamer who is interested in the game though, will take easily 20+ hours if not far more.

I dunno 15/20 hours to complete a FPS is risky cause it could just get boring like many people complained about Doom 3.

Any game that doesn't last me at least 40+ hours doesn't get my $50.

Doesn't mean I won't add it to my collection, I just won't be payin' for it.

I don't see spending $50 for less than a days entertainment.

Well of course the game WAS set up in one district f the empire so it would all be grassland tho you did forget to ention the beaches and the Mountain range.

B***S*** no way you completed the main storry in 5 hours on just 2 levels.

Im willing to bet you never even explored the game to find the hidden quests   One of my favourates was the one where the floating inn gts hijacked and you had to fight off the pirates.

I personally dnt mind a long FPS as long as its both fun and ahs a good story to it [Half life 2 and System shock 2]

Publish, you did not finish the main storyline in Oblivion in 5 hours, lets go ahead and get that horse shit out of the way right now, bud. It takes 2-3 hours just to get to Cloud Ruller Temple, shit longer than that even. Not to mention you will be level 2, almost 3 by time you do reach Cloud Ruller.

Game Over. You are out of lives. No Continues left. You are out of quarters. No way out of this one.

Great more people who just don't get the idea of open play.  Guess FFX was better cause it had an arrow pointing you in the direction you had to go and it was just 5 random encounters in between a boss fight kinda game :P

Elder Scrolls games are about exploration , living in the world, the massive side quests.  Yes you can do the main story rather quickly, but you also don't have to sit through 50 minute long boss battles and never ending CGI sequences.

Well, IGN gave the thing a 9.7 out of 10...which is pretty damn impressive.  But as someone else already said, if it's not holding my attention for at least 40 hours, it's not getting my 60 dollars.  Games cost too damn much these days to be spending them on 15 hour adventures that I'll play through twice and never touch again.

I got sick of Oblivion in about 20+ hours on a single character, I got my Assassin all the way to the point in the Dark Brotherhood where the speaker gives you the black steed, after that I stopped playing, just lost interest at that point. Not to mention I could never get it to run over 40FPS even with a 1900XTX. Ill probably pick up the Game of the Year edition on the PS3 next month when it comes out.

  • I have never finished the main quest of Oblivion. It's just so boring right now, all it is is 'close Oblivion gate, wash hands, close Oblivion gate.' The Assassin's guild quests are the best, thieves guild is pretty fun. I blew through the Nights of the Nine expansion and was kind of dissappointed. I'm enjoying Shivering Isles a whole lot more, it's my kind of party. Not done with it yet, we'll see. Maybe I'll finish that main quest.

Is Bioshock supposed to have any kind of replay value? Nothing worse than an awesome game that's too short and has no point in replaying.
