in Dark and Light

i just downloaded and patched for literally 10ish hours and  i type my password and account name... guess what!

Mafate Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience, then *send error report or dont send error report*

you've got to be kidding me...

could the problem be i have no sound card driver? i seem to find that doesnt let me play a few of the korean mmorpgs

    I find it hard to believe anyone would actually play Dark and Light willingly, let alone act surprised when the game crashes to desktop. Seriously, trash this game and go play something worth the frustration.

    Try this link to the DnL boards.  Stability and performance problems have plagued this game from day one.  However, many of those issues (such as yours), may have a solution which the players themselves have discovered.  Sadly, many of the players seem to be more knowledgeable about computers and coding than the games developers.  At any rate, here is the link, I hope it helps:

    To save you a bit of time. I downloaded, patched, played for several laborious hours then deleted it. Many better f2p games that do not lag half as bad, easier to use, with many features that just are not in this (sad to say) pre-release unready game. If this was worth playing i would state that, but it clearly isn't. Not trying to start a flame yet indefinitely you will have people clinging on.

    It had potential, but it has clearly dropped of the radar and nothing new will be implemented. I am astonished the server is still running.

    If by any chance it was picked up, closed, and developed properly with the features promised and a nice polished shiny as hell glow then maybe. As it stands don't waste your time if it is at all precious to you.

    This is true. Many of the players are the ones who have come up with the several workarounds needed in order to have a smooth experience. Even then there are problems that come up and some things you just dont do because you know you will 2 hours tinkering time with your computer or that no matter what you do, its the game and not your manipulations that are causing it.

    Having to reset your configurations back to what you want also is a pain to do every time you want to play this game. Gets old after awhile.

    Sounds like a conflict, the game using opengl 2.1 or higher, some users who use ATi cards may find some difficulty in running the game.

    Myself personally am using a Nvida card running the Vista home OS and have not had any problems getting the game to operate. As well as I've failed to find any "game breaking" bugs in 2 weeks of play.
