Would you play a SIMPSONS MMO?

Kind of interesting thing that came up to my head....The Simpsons has a HUGE global fanbase which can easily be portrayed by the recent release of the movie so development of a Simpsons MMO would bring mass appeal and there is a good (infact a great deal) of mature older Simpsons fans. It will likely never happen but what do you guys think? Would this game possibly work? If so, I'm pretty sure EA Mythic would be first in line to try and license and develop the game.

No. While its a valid idea it wouldn't hold up to the masses as a serious mmo. In my opinion it really just isn't mmo material.

If the game was good I would try it out. It's not about the license, but about the game. However, I don't think the game would work it's two things which I don't really fit together. Simpsons is all about the world and the crazy characters, yet everyone can't be Homer Simpson can they? Of course you could design your own character and interact with the environment, but I still don't think it would work. In the end Simpsons is the family and their small city, it's not fit for making a huge game out of.
No, of course every can't be Homer Simpson much like how you can't be Frodo or Gandolph on LOTRO. There are tons of sites that allow you to create your own Simpsons character, for example simpsonizeme.com
But of course there is the question of how to level and such and end game content, etc. It would probably be better fit as a Sims or Second Life type game where you basically run a life in your own crazy adventure. Again, a Simpsons MMO is highly unlikely so I'm just throwing the idea out there to see if people would actually play one if it were ever made.

In LOTR Tolkien created a big and epic world containing a huge number of different persons. It had Elves, Orcs and lots of other magical stuff in it. The world was huge and while the series focused on the main characters, at least I thought the whole other world was truly epic too.
The difference between Simpsons and LOTR is that LOTR had a huge and epic world, and this world was something you wanted to explore. The books were as much about the world and the creatures there as it was about the quest. Simpsons on the other hand is more focused around the main characters and the small city they live in.
The Simpsons world isn't equal to LOTR when it comes to having a huge world. Simpsons is in some ways a small community. They are locked up with all these crazy guys like Mr. Burns and all others. For any kind of mmo you need a big world to allow for a bigger community to learn each other while they still aren't all at the same small spot.
I do believe Simpsons could work, using a GW style of instancing (making cities the only place where you can meet other people, while the rest of the world is instanced) and making the game rather small and more sandbox. The main concept could be to build up a nice Clan/Tribe/Guild and do some kind of "endgame" stuff with it. It could work, but it seems highly unlikely.

1, So we would raid the power plant? Mr burns is last boss
2, we would get crap clothes at start and end up with the original character clothes at end?
3, characters would make special apperances?
4, game would be boring?
5, MObs would consist of gangs? bullies? thiefs ect..... Yawn
6, You can craft a electric hammer?
7, mounts would consist of santa's little helper?
8, graphics would support windows 91?
9, The game would be amazingly child like?
10, You would go back to shop from were you bought the game and demand a refund? screaming and yelling at the shop keeper fianly having gone down to the place were they made the game and sewing them only to lose and lose everything your house, all your money and your computer now you cant play any mmorpg and you have just reached lvl 69 on WoW and have 100xp till lvl 70? so you go back to your well you dont have a house your errm... ally way and try to comit suicide only to find that you hve nothing to kill your self with you repeatadly bash your head with a rock until you die? sigh... lets not think about what this game would be like ey?
