Since we all know that Dog fighting is disgusting etc etc...here's my thoughts on the Falcons: As they bring a new Quarterback into the system they will slowly ween themselves off of the high school style quarterback known as Michael Vick, and they will once again come into playoff contention...you can't win a super bowl with a quarterback like Michael Vick...and I'm not saying that it'll happen this year, or next year, or even in the next five years...but it IS a step in the right direction to be getting rid of him.

Hmm, I actually agree with you there.
I have heard alot of people proclaiming all the good Vick has done, that charity group he founded and such. The thing is, he founded this dog fighting ring pretty much as soon as he went pro, long before any of the charity work. So, I think this is the true face of Michael Vick, and his charity work the mask.
cock fighting is still legal in certain parts of my state.

Whats the difference morally between a cock fight and a dog fight.

To be honest, I think his punishment does not fit the crime. The US is way oversensative about some things. Ever been to mexico to watch one of thier time honored traditions of bullfighting? It is way more severe than anything any dogfighting could ever be.
Edit: I wish our policing agencies would be more concerned about our government and corporate corruption.
Well, it's illegal more because because dogs are "man's best friend". Cockfighting is going to be outlawed in Lousiana soon I believe I heard, so both cockfighting and dogfighting will be illegal nationwide (apparently cockfighting is huge in Puerto Rico though).
Most people don't care nearly as much about cockfighting as they do about dogfighting because the vast majority of people don't come into contact with chickens in their daily lives except as food.
Bullfighting is a holdover from a more savage time, the coliseum of ancient Rome. If you think bullfighting is bad, remember that real people used to fight and die for the entertainment of others.
I don't think we're "oversensative" regarding this subject at all. In California, cock and dog fighting are both illegal. As they should be.

Have you ever witnessed a true dogfight? I have. My brother used to fight his pitbulls ( no, I did not condone him doing so, and told him as much). He quit when his dog was torn to shreds by another one. Throat ripped out, right in front of him. Suddenly, it wasn't as "fun" or "exciting" for him anymore.
Also consider, that those animals (trained by humans, NOT their natural behaviour) do tend to get loose and/or abandoned. Not pretty when a child (or even an adult) is within their range.
I agree that bullfighting is barbaric as well, doubly so because it involve a human fighting an animal for sport.
But to say bullfighting is way more severe? How many bulls can you fit in your backyard on a weekend to make money with your friends?
This cockfighting/dogfighting goes on, even though illegal, because of bastard asshats who care about the money, not the animal. Anyone who can do this to animals, wouldn't think twice about slitting your throat just to entertain himself.
People try to look at this as no different than human "fight clubs". But there is a difference.
Humans have a choice.
Thats because most people eat chickens and have dogs as pets. Not the other way around. At least in the US that is how it is.

This is a joke right? The chickens are going to be killed and eaten anyways, not only that chickens are in great over abundance, so there is no reason what-so-ever to NOT kill and eat them. Last time I checked chickens are not domestic animals, nor are dogs considered poultry, livestock, or grill-bait in this country.
Anyways, as Draenor basically said, Michael Vick's carrear was going nowhere anyways, and he was dragging the Falcons down with him. If the idiot wants to run, he needs to be a wide out or a back. QB's are suposted to throw the ball to said positions, something Michael Vick dosent and hasnt ever done.

To me, any person who would intentionally abuse an animal has a bucket load of screws lose upstairs. It takes a calloused person and someone who could just as easily transfer that lack of concern to humans eventually.
