Plz dont flame me or anything...im interested in play asherons call..but i wanted to know which is better..1...or 2..perhaps a list of pros/cons?...ty^^
I've been playing AC1 since retail. It's got a great charcter development system and is very friendly for either group or solo play styles. The allegiance system promotes a healthy interaction between the players. The recent changes to PVP allow everyone to try it out without risking all their possesions.
I played AC2 for about the first 2 months, so my info is out of date. What I didn't like about it was the crafting system and the quest system. All the best equipment is crafted and it breaks down over time, so you are constantly looking for new equipment. You could not advance at a good rate without questing.
Well that depends on what kind of game you want to play. To say one sucks and the other is good, is a subjective and limited point of view. I like them both in different ways. I played both off and on since their betas. I played on the new AC1 server (Verdantine) for a couple weeks then realized I was becoming too obsessed again so I backed off. A couple days ago I started playing AC2 again and it seems to have come a long way since Microsoft got out of the picture (and I expect it will rox more soon). Both are fun and interesting. AC1 in the past has definitely been more fun, but now both are about the same in enjoyment to me.
AC1 = poor graphics; customizable stats, but not alot of skill choices; highly addictive; tons of content; good loot system; interesting lore; bigger world; worse quests; more players (att).
AC2 = great graphics; stats are simplified, but lots of skills to play with; semi-addictive; good amount of content; ok loot system; weak lore; smaller world; better quests; less players (att).
Both = fun, fast paced, some cool people, some annoying people, good PvP systems, monthly updates, decent customer support, interesting monsters, $12.95 per month.

Makohiro,
Hello, you have come at a very intresting time. Guess what! Both games are FREE to download! (I know AC2 is for sure, AC might still be free.)
I suggest you download and play for free AC first. (There is no telling how long AC will be free to play.) Then when you are done checking out AC, then download and play for free AC2. (AC2 will have their free offer to play for a loooooong time )
Then compare both games yourself according to what you like.

well just to inform u, AC1 has more skill choices and combos then AC2, tinkerer/archer, og mage/UA, in AC2 u can have like a few skills but in AC1 u can keep getting them, there are more combos in AC1 then AC2, also AC1 has more armor and weapons then anyother game ive ever seen, AC2 i see alot of people using the same things.
Definitely AC1. AC2 is getting better but it's still light years behind AC1 in terms of fun and community. If they were to somehow integrate AC2's graphics into AC1, I'd do a merry jig.
AC1 has remained strong even without the graphics of 90% of all other MMORPG's. Never has a game lasted as long as AC, and with the upcoming expansion pack, it might break through to a mainstream game once again.
NOTE: I guess it already is a mainstream game, but I mean on the top 10 games player count -wise.
No, it doesn't offer the wonderful "eye candy" of the newer ones. But it does offer solid game play, there is not forced grouping to play. Solo playing is a very real concept there.
I have played many other games, and in the end, not one offered for me the content needed to keep my attention. Graphics are lovely, but it is the game that will keep the player.
NEW content each month, new rewards, new quests. Great people. And even though I am not PK oriented, it does offer a great PK system. AC1 has managed to do that beautifully.
AC2, I tried it, and quit after 6 months. I may take another look later this year and see how far it has come.

AC 1 is amazing, AC2 is total utter garbage. The devs shouldve never released AC2.
Played: The Realm, AC1, DAoC, AC2, Planetside, Earth and Beyond, Lineage1
Now Playing: SWG
