Theres a very high chance TR won't be out until 2008 in which case I'd say Age of Conan has it beat. However Tabula Rasa is definitely a step into the future for MMORPGs especially if its polished up nicely come retail. What it needs to do is focus on strategic game play rather than a run and gun style combat system otherwise it'll end up getting boring too fast.
Even if it was released in 2007 it wont be by a large margin the best MMO that year.

If the award was "Best NEW MMO of the year for 2007" then yes, in my openion, because as far as I can tell, were in August and any of the other big hitters, besides Fury ( which is sorta kinda big) dont have a confirmed 2007 release therefor have the potential to slip.

id say... its pretty possible that TR will snag GOTY in whatever year it comes out. but i cant say that 100% yet, game's still in Beta and it might not come out for another year or two.
personally i like it because its sci-fi and not alot of MMO's are sci-fi.
Due to the NDA I really can't go into detail, but not only do I think it is not mmo of the year, I think it's one of the worst MMOs I've played. (I haven't played vanguard)
The devs thought it was a good idea to copy the combat mechanics of the NGE? *boggle*
i havent really researched to much..but is Tabula Rasa going to have an open beta stage...or is it just allowing fileplanet subscribers to get access to the game?
There a ton of pve focused games out there, this one will be lost in the crowd. The next big game to have success will be a pvp focused game.

Can't say much other than: Not very impressed
DG didn't copy aspects of the SWG:NGE into Tabula Rasa.
TR (version 2) has been in development since 2005, and was actually shown months before SOE and LA unleashed the NGE.
The timelines are on the internet...
Some people make things happen.

Some people wonder what happened.
That's very interesting, I didn't know that.
Regardless, while I personally don't like the mechanics they have used, I applaud them for at least trying something different.
not going to happen, dont see anything to write home to mom about.

It's human nature to dumb down or diss a game or movie because you feel you are superior and all knowing (I do it allllll the time
). On another note:
I personally enjoy the game a lot, very entertaining. I think it's quite possible for the MMO of the year, but then again I have not played it very long.. so atleast the first impression is good (which in all aspects, is the most important). I think the game has a good background story to it to perhaps give it that extra edge to being selected. However, like most people here.. they play MMOs religiously (no offence) therefore you are going to get tired of them eventually (I was in the same boat).
Yeah... giving more player interaction in a MMO.. damn them! *boggles*
Just have to wait and see.
