in Guild Wars
Should i start with the original or should i get nightfall. Nightfall seems like it would a good game to begin with. I would mostly do PVE until i learn the game more. Any suggestions would be welcome.

i bought propechies first myself...but i heard either one is good to start with.
Prophecies. You will get skill quests and you don't need to buy all skills from trainers.
I found the Nightfall campaign to be more enjoyable than Prophecies, though Prophecies quests are definitely more beneficial to your character since you are rewarded with new skills. New skills come much slower in Nightfall, though I think more players are doing the Nightfall campaign these days as well. It's a tough call, in my opinion. I would lean towards advising you to buy Prophecies, and if you like it enough, buy the Nightfall campaign, too. At a certain point, you can access alternate Campaigns with your character, given that your account has access to them (IE, you could take a level 20 Dervish [Nightfall class] to Ascalon City [Prophecies location]. Access quest doesn't take very long to obtain/accomplish). You can't really go wrong with Guild Wars, in my opinion.
Remember that Prophecies was designed specifically for novice players, so the learning curve is very small and you can't mess up anything there. Nightfall is PvE and story oriented, but I guess it was designed with more emphasis on players who already knew GW.
Buy the trial! It's like $1.99 for 20 hours. That'll be a good way to see if it's your type of game. I LIKE it, but don't love it. If money is no object, go whole hog! But for me, when that baby drops to $9.99 it's mine.

Campaign wise, I though that Factions was the most fun by far. The story and everything was amazing, as well as the artwork and the cities.
