     who knows for shur when ....lol...Crs is 

    rarely  on time and theres allways a few more things to fix.

     

        I and others look at it this way  Either 1.27 will revitalize the Allies or put the final stake through our collective hearts.

          for most this will eather help / save  the game or sink it .

    Revitalize the Allies?. 1.27 include a set of airplanes and light mortars, isn't it?.
    How this stuff will Revitalize the allies?.

    Allies need better infantry squads, there are very few dedicated infantry squads. New air planes surely will encourage the strafing doctrine, that doesn't win campaigns at all.

    Infantry conquers, planes doesn't.

    Everyone wants to play with their favorite toys, nomatter how innefective those toys are in a team-oriented conquer environment, and even on a pesonal stat-whore level. 

     

    The most effective unit in the game is the rifleman, which also requires the least amount of rank, and is the most numerous.  Totally different then all the other Everquest emulators out there where the most powerful units and toys require the most rank-grinding.

    I can also guarantee that mortars will be used in a totall improper and innefective way.

    I'd go with inf being the most important unit as they are the ones that cap, not so sure about rifle anymore after depots, MSP were brought in.   Bringing the range of engagement way down with depots and MSP really brought up the SMGs importance, is why you see a town go to pot after the SMGs have been used up (sappers too if tanks involved).  Bad enough defending the CP with SMG and lag, dying to invisable inf.  A horror with rifle where you are basically a CP alarm system, you die and then type 'inf capping xxxx CP'.  Used to get a good chuckle with all the 'stop sniping with rifle and get in the CP' chat posts, and of course no one did as rifle in CPs is the lamest gameplay *shudder*

    But still a patch for new toys without fixing the current problems, but hey it's brought people in before, I guess it will do so again.  More numbers on both sides help balance the teams as number differences can get diluted.

      Problum is you dont have more numbers axis out number allies 3 or 5 to 1 depending on time frame your in ...allies max players on gaine 2 or 3 towns .....when there sleepin axis mass is on allies lose 4 to 6 towns .....easy to see why .

     

       Morters are not much better then rifle nads lol    .   it gets worse every day in game less and less players on allies ..and going axis ..what would that do ..lmao OH !!! i know make allied side all AI   and all players move axis ...that should be fun . Be like playing atari lol move backwards not forwards .  Dont worry CRS killed there game and soon no one will even care when better games come out . Even others can see who killed this game .

    to the op:  CRS will only release patches in between campaigns.  the current campaign has been a slow one partly due to the fact many of us are playing on the beta server with the new toys and effects.

    1.27 RELEASE CANDIDATE

    1.27 is HERE!!!

    Well almost. This weekend we’ll be taking the latest free content update for Battleground Europe into release candidate testing. This means we are feature complete and all the bugs are fixed.
    This also means that we are about ready to go live with this update and with an update of this magnitude and complexity there are some caveats to our regular procedure. Namely, we’ll be starting a new Campaign once this update is ready to go live.
    Here is the order of events that is going to take place over the next 7 days.

    RELEASE CANDIDTE

    Starting today, we are moving the 1.27 update into release candidate testing. You can help us finish up that test or get a jump on your fellow players with information and experience of the new ToEs, defensive forces, paratroop brigades, mortars, and resupply trucks by joining us this weekend for some fighting along the Meuse. The server will be set up to mimic the start of a campaign. You can grab the full installer here: http://discussions.playnet.com/announcement.php?f=34

    TRUCE DECLARED

    There will be a truce called by the Commanders in Chief of the Allied and the Axis. While we rarely come to the point where stopping a campaign is something we consider this release calls for such measures. Not only will this be a dramatic shift in the future of the game but the technologies behind this release are incopmpatible with the current game. We have to keep working here and that means that 1.27 has to go live so we can start concentrating on 1.28 and that my friends means the war must end, for today anyway. Everyone that has played this map has put a lot of effort into the current campaign and the Community Managers thank you for the dedication to your sides!

    INTERMISSION

    Once the truce is declared we will be resetting the map for an intermission. This will give us the opportunity to run our changes onto the live server and have thousands of you play which is something we are unable to do in the test server. This is important as we need to see the play mechanisms function and most importantly, we want to see how the new ToE equipment lists work out for game play. We think the dramatic increase in available units will be great but it will take all of us some adjustment time and an intermission is a good way of helping that adjustment along before we begin a new campaign.

    KILL-A-RAT

    To show our thanks for being apart of achieving the 1.27 milestone we’ve decided to run a KILL-A-RAT promotion. You’ll get the chance to shoot KILLER and DOC and all of the rest of us and we’ll get the chance to chat and play and give away a few t-shirts. All of these announcements will be posted by LATHAM in the Announcement section every night starting US Sunday evening on the happenings of the following day until the patch is released.

    CAMPAIGN 38

    Once the intermission and any kinks that appear are worker out Campaign 38 will begin. We’re very excited about this new age of war gaming and are looking forward to all of you experiencing this great game with us. Thank you to all of you who have supported us through the years and we look forward to many more!

       When you think 1.27 is the answer to save the game .....KILL A Rat ....well we know who allways win that one ...same ole same ole lol.

     BTW im not going away  and I still play the game .  so dont pretend to your self i dont know whats going on . lol

    The Truce has been declared, so the patch should be out pretty soon.
