My roommate just showed me the two movies on the NCSoft site for this game and I have to say I was basicaly insta-hooked. I'm so tired of all the MMO's that are just reskins of the same thing, this one looks like it could actually be unique. I just hope it lives up to the massive hype it's getting, I refuse to get my hopes up THAT high (never a good idea judging on past experiences) but I'm still willing to give this game a little more hope than most.
My biggest 'happy moment' was seeing that the gameplay looks like it will be 'twitch' based similar to Phantasy Star Online instead of the normal standing around and pushing your buttons, then waiting for it to go off. With the massive dissapointment Phantasy Star Universe dropped into my lap this game is easily my most anticipated game of '08 so far. Well, that and Diablo 3...if it ever comes out.

Aye, got hooked after the movies aswell, but I'de wait with really becoming enthousiastic until we get more in-depth information about the game, gameplay and everything that comes along with it. So far they've been quite conservative towards that, except for the PvPvE thing we really haven't heard a lot.

Uhm.. that sure came out of nowhere. I don't see a single thing with Aion that reminds about Archlord, except from possibly the setting influences (fantasy). Aion graphics will be far superior, the concepts and art-direction amazingly inventive and from the looks of it - gameplay with longevity in a mostly persistent world, something which Archlord could never offer.

This game looks like a huge terd, I think the only people who want to play it are anime queers or FF lovers, flying winged-asians...LOLLL
The graphics dont look all that bad but so far the gameplay and the character models just look like lol.

I'm very excited about this game as well. Not only does this look more visually stunning than any mmo I've seen so far, but the game play looks to be promising and it really looks like ncsoft is striving for the western market on this one. I can't wait, but I know I have to.
I have to agree joeshmoe, looks like they are aiming west on this one.
I am also very excited on the pvp aspect of this game, and so far in my mmorpg adventures I have not been much on pvp.
Anyone have any idea of when this game will be released?

Looking for a pvp mmo id suggest looking into war, because I doubt this game's silly pvp could hold a candle to WAR's rvr, not to praise it or anything, because it isnt out yet. But im pretty sure war's pvp will be better than a bunch of girly flying asian elf things.
And the graphics are good but it aint anything to get a bone over, EQ2 has great graphics but alot of people hate it.

If you think WAR is a WoW ripoff you are highly uneducated in the game and its preposed mechanics or youre just plain ignorant. And apparently there are ton of people that are looking forward to it because of its rvr.
And about the elf thing, i didnt look close enough to see if they had elf ears or not, so they aint elfs, theyre still extremely girly looking asians.
I'm very excited about it as well. It has everything I've been looking for in an MMORPG.
You secretly admire the asians, get over it. Especially for someone that says EQ2 looks good, and from observing your other posts, you lack taste, culture and a broad open mind. You should really travel outside that sandbox you live in. It's pretty dull over there eh? Too bad you can't experience anything first hand except for what you learn in the TV? All this economy and no culture or taste of life, pretty sad.

WAR really can't be a WoW ripoff, I've seen the game before beta. WAR has a longer running history/content than Warcraft's history.

For me, i personally hates lots of MMORPG by other developer but i never once gone to their forum and mocking on how sucks/lame the game is. (Even how i hates 2Moons, Archlord and WAR i don't criticize the game based on my point of view )
Come on, since you're really interested on WAR... Just start a threat on your WAR Forum "How much do I loves WAR" . You can have all the fun with WAR and definately, we'll have our fun with Aion regardless of who says what about any of those games.

I think when u loved Lineage 2, but hated some points, i think u will love Aion, because its Lineage 3. (I know Lineage 3 is a separate game, but come on, its Lineage 3 inoffcial)
Aion will be a great game! But if u dislike Asian games stay in the WoW 2.0 forums...

But is Aion being Lineage 2 a good thing? It looks beautiful but if NCSoft have kept their 'I love bots and farmers' hats on then it's going no where fast TBH. I don't mind a good grind now and then so the asian play-style doesn't throw me off as much as how they handle the gold sellers (or choose not to as the case may be).

I think NA NCSoft pretty much screwed up Lineage2 for all english speakers. The Korean version never had the same problems. The good news are, it's mostly the European NCSoft that have been active to promote Aion.

So here are reasons why Aion is NOT lineage 3.
1: Lineage 2 is aimed at a hardcore audience, Aion is aimed at a casual audience.
2: Lineage 2 is a FFA pvp game. Aion is Faction vs Faction
3: Lineage 2 is aimed at asian gamers. Aion is aimed at western gamers.
4: lineage 2 is based on Point & click, Aion is based on WASD
5: Lineage 2 is very based on number grinding, Aion is trying to avoid numbed grinding as much as possible
NCsoft has clearly said that Aion will be a different franchise from Lineage 3. Anybody who thinks Aion will be like Lineage CLEARLY has not done any research whatsoever.
