Hey guys im trying to get away from the MMOs for awhile so i was wondering if there is a good FPS out there thats alot of fun and alot of people play, thanks.

Bioshock is the latest and probably one of the best ever FPS's out there for the PC and Xbox360. PC version is best tho as it runs unbugged and with full graphics unlike the 360 verion.

as ive heard about Bioshock, is it really good? like whats the online play like?
Could you be more specific to which kind of FPS you'd like to play.
I actually just finished beating it today, and I must say go play it. Now. Absolutely outstanding game, deserving of positive praise. Turst me, it will be like no other FPS you have ever played.
Probably one of those with guns in it...

Sadly it has no multiplayer [tho with the mod community you never know]. But the singleplayer game is simple beutifull. I advice you dowmload the demo from fileplanet and give it a try. OH and if you have palyed system shock 2 then ill say its similar to that classic game.

Try the demo anyway that way you can try a real well made FPS and you will ahve something to paly during offline times.
Have to say the first BIG DADDY battle is pretty intence on hard setting

yea im downloading the demo right now, but i kinda want an online game so when i beat the campaign or w/e il have something else to do instead of beating it over again
Counter-Strike. It has like 1000s of maps, 100,000s of people playing, lots of guns, and very tight gameplay. You can use a headset to talk, mods on some servers with fun stuff, and not only shooting but objective games as well. It's really the best FPS ever made.

Netherlss tryut the bioshock demo first tho as the single plaer game is far from dead udging from this game.

I really dont know as i tend to avoid such games becaise f the hacking that you can get in such places.

There are a lot of FPS's out there. It really depends on what you are looking for. CS/DoD are fast paced shootemups that require a quick hand and reflexes. Red Orchestra is realism based WW2 simulation. Only has infantry and tanks, with no crosshairs. BF1942 and BF2 have several mods going for them.
yea im lookin for something fast based, what is DoD? and also a game that has updated graphics, i dont like the CS graphics.
There is a new Unreal tournement comming out which uses the same graphics engine as used by BIOshock so thats another reason to try out the denmo just to get anidea of how good looking unreal tournement will look i guess.

Of course smart ass. I'm talking which type as there are several:
Squad Based realistic Tactical (Rainbow Six Raven Shield, Swat 4, AA, Ghost Recon Series on PC, )
Unrealistic squad based Tactical (Counter Strike, Vegas)
Large Scale Unrealistic Tactical (BF Series)
Large Scale Realistic Tactical (OFP, ArmA)
Large Scale Arcade like(Ut2k4 some modes)
Small scale arcade like(Quake series, UT series some modes, painkiller)
These are just some types that could be suggested.
He could also ask for settings:
Modern, Vietnam, WWII, Sci-FI, Western and so on.
Actually just some keywords like: Large enviroment, realistic weapon and vehicles and so on could give one a clue.
I guess you could say Bioshock is a fantasy/sci-fi shooter with RPG eliments to it.

If you have some cash i suggest you buy half-life 2 and play half-life 2's death match so much fun!!!!!!!!! gravity gun + sink to the head = lol fun. Also half-life 2's single player is great!
