High Elf DPS Class

I've done a little research on the lore but have never played the table top game.  I know I read somewhere on here in some interview with some EA employee that the High Elves were going to have a pet class.  Assuming that there's only a 50% or so chance of the info in that interview being accurate, what are people thinking the possibilities for the High Elf DPS class are?  Dragon Prince?  White Lion?  As I'm not very familiar with either, could somebody tell me a bit about them?  Weapons?  Combat style, etc?  I dig the Swordmaster but have always played tanks in MMO's and am hoping for a warrior DPS class on the HE side in this game.  Thanks a lot!

If their pet class is a bow user ill crap me pannts , why becuase the worse thing ever is bow using elves.

The High Elf DPS potentials would be Shadow Warriors, a ranged fighter type with light armor, usually used to harrass flanks and enemy war machines on the table top.

Dragon Princes, which are usually euipped in heavy armor, lance, shield, and their steed(either dragon or Elveen steed), they are a form of heavy cav, thus pretty standard fast, hard hitting unit.

The White Lions are the Phoenix King's personal bodyguard. They wear thick lion skins over their shoulders which shields them from ranged attacks, use respectably heavy armor, and use the Great Axe as their primary weapon.

We know Shadow Warriors have been mentioned in the past in a couple videos, so that's more then likely their ranged DPS, I doubt it's the pet class though due to the High Elves magical nature, the pet class will more then likely be a summoner type that currently is not used in the table top version, or any other version at that(they gave the Swordmasters magic, even though there is no point in any of the fluff where the SMs wield magic and great weapons).

I cant see not having shadow warriors in the game, they are the most popular elven class.  I would rank shadow warriors up there with witch hunter and chaos warrior in popularity..... which I dont understand because the unit itself is horrid.

Lets hope for the sake of originality they go with White Lions with lion pets.

Again, not knowing a great deal about the lore. . . is it safe to assume that the archmage will be the only healer for the high elves?  Which means that there'll probably be one more ranged class added (shadow warriors) and one other   melee class (White Lions or Dragon Princes)?  Thoughts?

Since they've listed them as healer/nuker, yes. I would be very surprised if they did not announce a melee dps and a ranged nuker for the High Elves.

For the Dark Elves, they need to announce the support (healer hyrbid) and ranged dps.

    so...

Corssairs have xbow and swords, so they would be a melee based with little range kind of like how the witchhunter is... just with no hat. Mythic did a good job of the melee Archer in daoc with the hunter class compared to its rival the scout from albion.

Corsairs have repeating crossbows if any ranage weapon (liek all darkelves pretty much) not guns no elf has guns and the day I see an elf with a gun is the day I must kill all elves (in warhammer anyway, other elves can have guns). As for a high elf hybrid healer class... well we know the tank will be a Sword master, and the big hitter is either a White Lion or Shadow Warrior, The offensive caster is definatly a Mage (well who dident see that comming)... hmmm... As I glance threw the Hight Elf minatures the defensive caster will either be another type of mage or a Handmaiden of the Everqueen (not likly)... inless they do something more like the orcs with only one caster the 2 melee classes and something that will completly surprise us all.

For the DE's, the support (healer hybrid) is gonna be a tough one since the only casters in their army are basically sorceresses and Malekith himself.

GW and Mythic will probably come up some little twist to the DE lore just for gameplay sake. Besides, if GW approves you know its going to be ok.

Ranged DPS I see as either the magic users (Sorceresses) or the Shades, lightly armored scouts adept with crossbows and wicked close combat abilities.

They could still combine these abilities and open up tons of neat lore with the DE Assassin Hero unit.  Basically a more potent melee combat unit but can't take too much damage.

I'm still very happy we get the Black Guard!
