The game that it became when it sut down was totally different than what it was when it first started. It was in beta forever and when it first came out, it had more of a DAoC kind of feel to it and it was kinda fun to play. They were talking back and forth with us on the forums and listening to suggestions. When they totally revamped the graphics, they changed the layout of the land as well as the gameplay. It just didn't have the same magic. I was really into it before then, but afterwards it did feel like they were trying to be WoW II and alot of people left. It just never recovered, I guess.
omg this game so rocks and its coming back slowly but it will get thear so booo yeah
Anyone who has played ferentus knows it was a good game...i think it could have owned WOW if they actually updated more often & added more things to do
. That game had so much potential after revamp.they were foolish not to keep it running.
jw is Herrcot made by the same people....is it the new ferentus?
It was not like wow, it was ....my opinion here....a poor knock off of lineage 2. If you liked it sorry for you that they pulled it, but it never had a chance to "own" wow, I mean come on now mate, like wow or not, it's king kong, and this one wasn't even in the running.
Hopefully this post will be somewhat helpful to the OP and other fans of this game.. or some type of hope for you perhaps
Herrcot is not dead, just the English Version.

There is also a Korean version I believe, I'll try to locate it and ill update this post. I also stumbled across a couple Old School Ferentus Private Servers which I obviously cannot provide th links for, but they do exist if your determined to play this game.
If you feel like checking out the Korean version its name is Xiones [link here: http://xiones.gtube.co.kr/ ], from what I hear the population consist of all high levels that arn't to friendly to the American population. As far as the German version, the population is very low.. at least from what i've researched

The German version of Herrcot is suppose to be releasing an Englisg client soon, for now there is a translator. i'll post the directions below. I am in no way affiliated with any of these versions/games, I've actually never even tried them. Just bored at work and trying to help.

Herrcot is the German equivalent of Ferentus. Ferentus was a FREE 3D fantasyMMORPG Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game published by DQ. It has been rumored that Ferentus was shut down late in 2006 due to a conflict with NaonTech Co. Ltd. over the creative rights of the game. Since the closure of Ferentus, many people have begun to play Herrcot. Herrcot is essentially the same game with the exception that it is offered in the German language. Here, we cover where to sign up and download Herrcot and then how to further patch Herrcot for the English language.

Because Herrcot is offered in the German language, many English speaking players might find they have a hard time getting around. There are a handful of Herrcot English patches aka Herrcot language packs available, but most have been known to cause in game problems and server crashes. The good news is that the Herrcot team has a translator in place, it’s just not finished yet. The following explains how to patch Herrcot for English language.
Note that the Herrcot English patch does not translate most server side events such as quests, monsters and some text embedded into the graphical textures of the game. However, The names of the monsters are consistent with their quested names so following the quests should not be an issue.
Sadly i was there when they gave us the news. Beta testing did not go so well so they shut it down. Due to lack of money and resorces. It was a cheap game but still fun non the less.

I dont see why Warcry needed to shut it down it free to play anyway herrcot is awful there is NO patch to change any of the language i managed to create a character and left after seeing the so call english patch in working state it turns out to be another crappy german language patch.
In other words herrcot is rubbish id wait for ferentus to arise from the dead.
Why p2p through it takes the fun out of it.
